Beautiful Sunsets Around The World
Ever since I can remember I have always loved sunsets.
They never cease to amaze me with their beauty and splendor. Painted on the sky with great diversity they can be dark and brooding or mysterious or so full of color and beauty that you can't help but smile.
All around the world the glory of a sunset can be seen and when I see one I cannot help but feel wonder and joy.That is why I like to have pictures of beautiful sunsets all around.
So please take a tour with me of some beautiful sunsets from around the world and marvel at the beauty that is created everyday.

Milford Sound, New Zealand Sunset
Milford Sound is in Fiordland National Park in New Zealand it has sheer rock faces all around it that rise 3,900 ft. or more on either side.
There are peaks that resemble animals The Elephant at 4,960 ft. and Lion Mountain at 4,270 ft. is said to resemble a crouching lion. With an annual rainfall of 6,813 mm, on 182 day's a year it is known as the wettest inhabited place in New Zealand and one of the wettest places in the world.

A sunset occurs when the top of the sun goes just below the sea level horizon.
Anaehoomalu Bay, U.S.A Sunset
Anaehoomalu Bay also known as A-Bay is a shallow water bay on the South Kohala coast on the island of Hawaii.
It is known for it's beautiful sunsets, snorkeling and historic royal fishponds. It is also the location of the Lavaman Triathlon which is one of the qualifying events for the Ironman Triathlon World Championships.
Maruyama Park, Japan
Maruyama Park is located in Kyoto, Japan and is next to the Yasaka Shrine in the Higashiyama district.
It is known for it's beautiful cherry trees. In the beginning of April the cherry trees are in full bloom and the park is packed with tourists.

Sunsets should not be confused with dusk, which is the moment at which darkness falls.
Oxbow Bend, U.S.A
Oxbow Bend is a "bend" in the Snake River that has been cut off from the main channel and look's like an oxbow that was used by western pioneers.
Oxbow Bend is in Grand Teton National Park located in the United States in northwestern Wyoming just south of Yellowstone National Park. The park is named after Grand Teton standing at 13,700 feet it is the tallest mountain in the Teton Range.
Bora Bora
Bora Bora is an island located 140 miles northwest of Papeete and around it is a lagoon and a barrier reef. It is an overseas collectivity of France in the Pacific Ocean.
The original name in the Tahitian language sounds more like Pora Pora which means "First Born" an earlier pronunciation found in 18th and 19th century account's is Bolabolla.

The period between the astronomical sunset and dusk is called twilight.
Lake Insh, Scotland
Loch Insh is a loch in the Highlands region of Scotland.
The Loch is a great place for sailing and canoeing with a well stocked watersports center on the southeast side of the Loch it is also a great fishing spot.
Mount Nebo, Jordan
Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge that is about 2680 feet above sea level in western Jordan. From the summit it provides a panoramic view of the Holy Land.
Both Jewish and Christian tradition says that Moses was buried on Mount Nebo by God himself. Scholars still dispute on whether the mountain "Nebo" is the same as the mountain referred to in the Torah.
Fun Facts
Sometimes just before sunrise or after sunset a green flash can be seen.

- Sunsets are beautiful wherever they're viewed from and they are always so individual, I have some gorgeous shots taken here and various other places and they always bring back memories and make me smile :)

- Wow what a beautiful gathering of sunsets. I love the Maruyama Park, Japan sunset with the birds perhaps because I am partial to crows. Amazing lens idea.
