A World Birder's Dream

Ranked #8,122 in Pets & Animals, #205,260 overall

Bird the World - my dream. Join me on this quest.

My dream and passion is to be able to bird the world.  I am a disabled senior who would like to see birding hot spots become accessible birding destinations.

Birding can be one of the quieter and more relaxing outdoor activities. However, birders who are keen rarity-seekers will travel long distances to locate new and rare species, intending to add these to their list of personally observed bird list

A Disabled Birding Resource
The birds must come first of course, but that aside a little effort could make many places more accessible than they are. Furthermore, such improved physical access needs to be combined with greater sensitivity by all birders toward those with special needs.
Disabled Birders Association
The Disabled Birders Association is a relatively young organization seeking to improve access for people with disabilities to reserves, facilities and services for birding. We have members across the world but the majority live in the UK. There is a separate chapter in the USA.

Birds are smarter than people think. I sit in my backyard and watch them all the time. I especially like Hummingbirds. They are so adorable. But this year I did not get to enjoy any in my back yard. I a guess it's because it has been to hot. I own a Quaker Parrot her name is "Schatzi" it means something like sweet heart in English. She is very demanding for my attention and she is very head strong. Does what she want's to do. I enjoyed your Lens.
