The "World Live Web" (aka "social media" or "social software") is a catch-all phrase used to encompass the immense wave of social activity that has put people and interactions (rather than documents and transactions) at the very center of the Web. Key biases of the World Live Web include: openness, portability, decentralization, transparency, organic/viral growth and, most importantly, sharing.

About asearls

I started a site dubbed "the World Live Web" in 2001, but few people were interested in social software at that time, or maybe it was a dud. In any event, social software (or social media) has come full circle and is now perhaps the most interesting thing happening on the Web.
