There is a World of World of Warcraft Free Trial available. You can easily get started playing this game by purchasing a dvd for $1.99 from places like GameStop in a mall or down-load the demo from Blizzard. Either way you can then proceed to play online for free. The dvd comes with a 14-day trial period to play on line for free. The online version of the free trial is only for 10 days. With the free World of Warcraft demo you have the ability to find out what all the fuss is about, why so many people spend their lives in front of a computer screen (as opposed to a TV screen), and just why so many of your friends are recommending that you try it out for yourself. To get the World of Warcraft Free Trial demo download you will first need to do the following:

1a) Read the section below called "Where's The Yellow Brick Road" which details my experience using WoW for the first time.

1b) Sign up for the free "Mini eMail course" so you won't get lost in the game and waste time before you start having fun.

You have to pick characters to role play, choose a group to be in alliance with, pick a work profession and make other choices that I had no idea about. I guessed at it all. Ok, now I'm in the game and there is no "yellow brick road to follow". Beasts are coming up to me wherever I wander. That's exactly all that I'm doing is wandering around lost. People (characters) are talking to me and I don't know how to respond to them either. What I did was log out very quickly. I could tell that the game was awesome but I needed some help. I went looking for information and found a lot of sites with wide array of guides. Most were too complicated. I did find a free guide that gave me the information and the confidence to go back into the game knowing what to do and where to go to have the most fun.
