Here are some quick World of Warcraft farming tips to use while leveling up.

1) Don't bother buying great gear. If you are a melee, get a good weapon to kill faster, but otherwise settle for decent greens. You'll outlevel gear so fast that it's not worth wasting money on.

2) Get gathering professions and sell the raw materials at the auction house. I made a killing with mining and skinning. When I hit 40 I laughed at the cost of a mount.

3) Solo. Certainly group up for fun, but don't do it for cash. You can get some good drops from instances, but refer to point 1. You get way better loot soloing in an area where you can mine and skin.

4) Sell most gear at the auction house, but be smart about it. Nobody wants to buy strength and agility cloth robe. Maybe to disenchant it, but in all likely hood it won't sell.

Head to the Badlands. On your map, look for the Lethlor Ravine in the eastern part of the map. There are two entrances to it. Near both of the entrances you can find whelps. In the actual ravine are elites, avoid them.

The whelps drop good coin, can be skinned, drop flame sacs, and have mining nodes nearby. The skins, ores and flame sacs can all be sold at the auction house for good gold. I found that the thick leather (iirc they drop heavy or thick) didn't sell well on my server, but still vendored for 60 silver a stack.

To make it even better, they rarely drop a dark whelpling. These are clickable pets that many people look for. You'll get quite a bit of gold for one. I usually get at least one in the time I spend here.

From Southshore, head north past the yeti cave and up all the way past the AV entrance. There you will find lots of mountain yeti's.

They drop coin, can be skinned, and there are plenty of mining nodes around. If you head around the left, near the ledge, you generally don't see too many people. Nice quiet leveling/gold farming.

The Defias Windmill in the Gold Coast area in Westfall is a great spot. Near the cost area you should see this Windmill overlooking the beach.

In this area is a ton of humanoid Defias mobs. These Defias are only about level 12, so even lowbies can do this one. They drop decent loot, but more importantly they drop linen, which can be sold at the auction house for a pretty penny. Even if you are a higher level, this spot is pretty good because the spawn rate is insanely fast. It's almost impossible to keep it clear. I still hit that spot up at level 60.
