World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), in fact it is the most popular of the MMORPGs out there. Just because it is the most popular though does not necessarily make it the best.
Basically World of Warcraft is so popular because it followed on the heals of the single user game Warcraft and as such people expected it to be a follow up. Warcraft is a fantasy based strategy game and the game play differs hugely. Another reason that World of Warcraft is the most popular of the MMORPGs is that it has had a commercial release and television advertising.
I am not knocking World of Warcraft because it is an excellent game but there are many other of these style games out there that are FREE to play. I have tried many of these style games and have even been caught in a rut in them by out leveling the game and continuing to play in hope that they update the game soon. So if you are stuck in a rut in the MMORPG you are currently playing either give World of Warcraft a go or one of the many other MMORPGs out there.
