The Wells-Natali technique....

Hungry Yet?

Is your mouth hungering for homemade Italian spaghetti sauce with meatballs? Well I can't say my sauce is authentic Italian, although I am married to an Italian (Natali) but the flavor has to be as good if not better. As for the meatballs I cheat. I use smoked sausage, the sausage puffs up a little and gives you a mouthful of meat equal to a meatball but with a lot more flavor. Bean Brothers brand is the best but if you are unable to find that brand please substitute a good quality brand of smoked sausage. You can also add chunks of Italian sausage but don't leave out the smoked sausage as some how, some way the smoked sausage puts a flavor through the whole sauce that makes your sauce taste as if you have a slow cooked spaghetti sauce that has cooked all day. I know that authentic Italian spaghetti sauce is one of the famous foods of Italy but this is sooooo good!

Make a big batch

Can some for quicker meals at a later time...

I make a large pot full when I make it and take the left over (if there is any) and can it in jars for homemade canned spaghetti sauce to have quickly when you come home from work and are too tired to really cook. When I use Ragu-sauce it is because the other brands tend to make it taste sweet and that is not what we want here.
So if you want a simple, quick spaghetti recipe or pasta recipe that I even use a base for my homemade lasagna then here it is.
This will make a huge pot because you will want leftovers for another yummy meal.

My Recipe

Ingredients

You will need:
Large Pot
2lbs ground beef
1 pkg. Bean Brothers Smoked sausage. If large links use 2 links if small links use 3-4 links cut into ¼" pieces
1 large onion - chop into small pieces
1 green bell pepper - chop into small pieces
1 large jar Ragu spaghetti sauce (your choice of chunky, reg etc)
1 small can tomato paste
1 can mushrooms (optional)
2 pkg. French's Spaghetti Sauce mix
Small amount oil (olive or corn, doesn't matter)

Cheat and lose weight

How it is done.

All quick and easy

Put a little oil in your pot and put your chopped onions and peppers in and cook until tender then crumble your ground beef in with the onion and pepper.

Cook this until your ground beef is done. While the beef is cooking take another pan and cook your cut up sausage pieces until browned or faster yet put the pieces on a plate and microwave them 4-5 minutes. When done pour in with the ground beef (include the drippings if any).

Next add your two packages of spaghetti sauce mix stir it well all over the ground beef then add the jar of ragu sauce. Stir well and add a ragu jar full of hot water.

Now add your jar of tomato paste and stir well until it has made into sauce. If your sauce is too thick add some water now. Now add the mushrooms (if you like).

Stir well and let simmer approximately 15 minutes.

Cook your Pasta and Enjoy!
