Worm Removal

Worms are self replicating programs (they copy themselves) and use these files to infect other computers. Worms are the second most common home computer virus. They are the most malious (bad) corporate virus due to the automatic nature of them.


The usually contain a few different file types when they infect a computer, otherwise known as a payload. As I stated in other lenses always be weary of .EXE, .SCR, .DLL files types showing up in your email.


Removing worms is a somewhat complex opperation due to the spreading of the infection all over your computer. Most worms do not harm data they just exploit it (give it out).


Most of the common worms have a process in which they upload or email viruses to other computers. If you get a email full message and you didnt send email, its most likley a worm. In fact Most ISP's will email you to tell you to fix your worm because it ultimatly slows thier system down.


The best way to remove a worm is with an Anti Virus Program. Trying to delete files manually is a long and risky process, and you might not find all the infected files.
