So What's a Little Cooking Get You?

It's a step beyond your typical homemade cooking. You eat any number of foods in the World of Warcraft and get buffs to your stats.

Need a Stam buff? Eat something. Need a bigger Stam buff? Eat better food. Such as these Goblin deviled Clams.

And then there are more interesting foods, such as those that turn you into a ninja or cause you to breath fire.

The Ever Popular Savory Deviate Delight

Now what could possibly be cooler than pwning newbs dressed as a ninja or a pirate? All you have to do, in the World of Warcraft, is help yourself to a serving of Savory Deviate delight.

You can get this dish from a helpful cook who knows how to make it, and has the fish, or from the auction house, or you can make it yourself. If you buy the dish from the AH be prepared to spend several gold for a stack of 20 dishes. The recipe itself commonly sells for well over 20 gold. The fish actually seem to sell for a higher price than the finished dishes.

Good luck trying to farm a copy of the recipe on your own. It's a rare drop, which means that you'll kill hundreds of mobs and never see it, while that guy over there kills one and gets it immediately.

Once you have a recipe all you need is the fish and some mild spices. You can catch the fish (or buy them) and buy the spices from your friendly (unless it's a Blood Elf) trade goods vendor.

Pirates

Chowing down on the Savory Deviate Delight could cause this to happen...

YOU are a pirate!

20/11/07: Flattered that people still comment this. [: 100k views as of 07/06/07! Woowoo! A music video recorded in World of Warcraft, in February of 2006. This was a very rushed idea, and you can tell. The camera movement is shoddy, some elements of the UI are visible and some parts are just horribly edited together. I rushed this, and im aware of that. Total time to make it was roughly 45 minutes for filming and an hour piecing all 100 clips together. Out of 100 clips taken, i slashed it down to roughly 56. This was originally 6 minutes long before i had to part ways with some fo the best bits. :( We ran out of pirate cake-things literally seconds after i finished the final bit. I know theres better versions of this around, and I think theyre superior to this. But thats what you get when you rush work. STILL getting comments? Thanks [:

The Ultimate in Bad Breath - Dragonbreath Chili

Now, while turning into a pirate is cool, there are other recipes which are also interesting. Dragonbreath Chili for one. Want to breathe fire on the opposition? Stop them in their tracks with your truly foul breath? Well, ok it won't quite stop them, the damage isn't anything to write home about, but it's a cool effect.

While Savory Deviate Delight requires a cooking skill of 85, this one requires 200. You'll need to get the recipe off certain vendors, plus some Mystery Meat, Small Flame Sacs, and some Hot Spices. Cook it all up and you're good. The buff lasts for 10 minutes and you'll breathe fire onto your opponent at random times.

You can find the recipe off Helenia Olden, in Dustwallow Marsh (66,51) or Ogg'marr, also in Dustwallow, at 36,31. Less than 1 gold to buy.

WoW Cooking in the Real World

Take the in-game cooking and bring it into the real world. Invite your gamer friends over for dinner and feed them the real Savory Deviate Delight, Dragonbreath Chili, or even Delicious Cave Mold cookies =>>

You'll find over 60 recipes, brought from the game to the real world, in the MMO Cookbook. Then you'll have a house full of pirates shouting, "Avast, ye scurvy dogs!" while they look for the sneaky ninjas.

The Big Stam Buffs

Get the big buff with Fisherman's Feast and Spicy Crawdad. Both of these yummy dishes require a cooking skill of 350 (yow!) They both restore 7500 health and provide a Stam buff of 30 and a 20 point Spirit buff. There's some argument as to which is "better," but that'll depend on which is easier for you to acquire.

The fisherman's Feast recipe can be found from a barmaid in Shattrath, in the lower city, in a tavern. For ingredients you'll need 1 Huge Spotted Felltail, 5 Goldenbark Apples, and 5 Soothing Spices. While the spices are easy and the apples can be found from fruit vendors, the Felltail is a pretty rare drop. Huge Spotted Feltail

Spicy Crawdad might be an easier recipe, depending on your ability to fly... You can grab the recipe in Stonebreaker Hold in Terokkar Forest and then you have to travel a bit. Plus, a flying mount or the flying ability is required. In addition you'll need an effective fishing skill of at least 405 just to cast a line and 475 is recommended so that not too many get away.

You'll be looking for pools/nodes called "Highland Mixed School" for your Furious Crawdads. These pools are found in three elevated lakes in Terokkar Forest, Outland: Blackwind Lake (near Skettis), Lake Ere'Noru (above Allerian Stronghold), and Lake Jorune (above Stonebreaker Hold.)

Bring your fishing suit and lures. Catching the Furious Crawdad
