The Philippines

The Philippines...a country with so many festivals...It simply shows that the Filipinos are a happy people because they love to celebrate. It is their way of celebrating their rich cultural heritage and festive spirit.

Aside from the festivals, Philippines is also rich in arts and culture, best tourism spots with beautiful beaches and islands and best dive sites.

The Festivals 

Each city or province celebrates different festivals

Dinagyang
ILOILO CITY
Celebrated every 4th of weekend of January; Iloilo City. A colorful procession in honor of the Holy Child Jesus amidst the cracking drumbeats.



Sinulog Festival
CEBU CITY
Cebu's biggest and most popular festival, the Sinulog Festival is a feast in honor of the Holy Image of Señor Santo Niño de Cebu. People converge along the routes of a grand solemn procession and partake in the gaiety amidst a mardi gras parade immersed in wild colors and the constant beating of drums. Fiesta Senyor, as it is widely known, is celebrated every third Sunday of January.



Masskara Festival
BACOLOD CITY
Celebrated every October, a masquerade ball and beaming images of smiling masks; street dancing and stomping to the frenzied beat of Latin sambas; depicts the Negrenses' happy disposition despite adversities in life.



Moriones Festival
Annually, during the observance of Holy Week, a biblical character in the person of the Roman centurion, Longinus, comes alive as the people of Marinduque celebrate the Moriones Festival. It is a religious festival, which links the story of Longinus with Christ's Passion and Death.



Sandugo Festival
TAGBILARAN CITY
The festival is celebrated from July 1 to 31 has been inspired by the blood compact, or Sandugo, a friendship treaty between the Philippines and Spain that took place in 1565. The annual spectacle of the province features an agro-industrial fair, cultural and historical showcase, sports events, a beauty pageant, balls and dances, entertainment shows, and streetdancing which culminates with the re-enactment of the blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Don Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.



Pintados Festival
TACLOBAN CITY
Celebrated in the month of June. Back during pre-Hispanic years, tattoos signified courage among the natives of Tacloban. These days they symbolize a cultural revival, and a wild, wacky fiesta called the Pintados. Join the town residents as they deck themselves out in body paint, mimicking the warriors of old while dancing to the frenetic beat of drums.



Tuna Festival
GEN.SANTOS CITY
The festival is about revelry and gaiety giving back the glory to the ocean for the abundance and bounty of tuna. The Tuna Festival is not merely a spectacle but a venue to showcase the city's pride and meaning. In its entirety, it is a celebration of the ocean's bounty. Moreover, it is fortifying the tangible strength of the city, wherein collective spirit is the inspiration that underscores the leadership of the city's affairs.



Panagbenga Festival
BAGUIO CITY
Panagbenga is a kankanaey term for "a season of blooming." It is also known as the Baguio Flower Festival, a homage to the beautiful flowers the city is famous for as well as a celebration of Baguio's re-establishment. Since February 1995, it has been held to help Baguio forget the 1990 earthquake that distressed much of the city.

Boracay
The perfect island getaway, with its warm blue waters, powder-fine white sand, and a palm fringed 4-kilometer beach.



The Chocolate Hills

Bantayan Island
Two of the main attraction of the island is its crystal-clear waters and it's long stretch of powdery white sand. The stunning sunset will really spice those romantic walks on the beach. One of the reasons the island is famous is its peacefulness, the way a resort should be. Unsaturated beauty and a combination of sweet smiling natives made the island as it is now.



Banaue Rice Terraces
Banaue rice terraces has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Carved out of the hillside by Ifugao tribes people 2000 to 3000 years ago without the aid of machinery to provide level steps where the natives plant rice.
