Why I'm excited about the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)

OK it should be noted that I've been hoked on Trading card games since I found out about Magic The Gathering. I love collecting the cards as much for the art as to play the game.

What has me excited when it comes to the WoW TCG is how it is played. Number one there are no specific resource cards. you simple take a card you din't think you'll need and put it face down in the resource area. Secondly things are specific. No longer can you mix and match. If your playing with the horde (bad guys usually) you can't put Alliance (good guys usually) cards in your deck because you can't use them.

Another thing I like is how the Heroes work. In most games Hero or legend cards are in your deck and come up randomly. So while you CAN build a deck around them there is no guarentee they will even turn up. In this game they aren't in the deck at all. You play them right off the bat. The kicker is youi can only play one.

Why only one? Because the hero in this case is you. when your hero card is killed it's game over for you. Instead of having cards AND a seperate life setup for the player, the player in infact represented on the board with the Hero card. Nice little twist on things I think.

There are a few good reasons to play this game, aside from the innovative ones. If you click the link below to the Upper Deck home page for it you will learn many of them.

About mattulmen

My name is Matt Ulmen and I have been on the internet since 1995. I first got seriously online when AOL3.0 came out and along with it came unlimited internet.

Lately I have been involved in the internet radio station The FBC as both show host and Music director. The shows I do are Flash in the Pan (A Music show featuring music found on the internet that is broadcast live Wednesday and Sunday) and Rendal's Ravings (A talk show live on Tuesday about whatever topics come to mind).

I also am a webmaster on the folowing websites:

Eagle Entertainment USA-The website of my dad author Steven Ulmen.

What A Crock Of...-My main domain. A lot of pages here promoting various things.

Get Your Word Now-A keyword site that has six custromizable word tabs and all words starting out at $10, custom or not.

In my spare time I like to play Warcraft III and chat on Second Life. And thats about it for me.
