Wrath of The Lich King
Ranked #3,235 in Games, #140,643 overall
Far Flung Heroes in the Frozen North
Of all the threats Azeroth has faced, none were as deadly as the Scourge that tore apart the eastern kingdoms and put the entire realm in peril. For a while after, things had quieted down; until now.
Arthas, death knight, Lich King, and ruler of Northrend, the roof of the world, commands the limitless armies of the Scourge. Whatever he is planning, rest assured, it will scar the face of the world forever.

There are footsteps on the ice...

Wrath of The Lich King is the second expansion for the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft. It centers on adding in a number of new features including a level cap raise from 70 to 80, new hero class, new profession, and most importantly, introducing the pivotal continent of Northrend to the game.
The expansion requires at least a basic WoW subscription and installation and players without access to the expansion will still have access to several spin-off effects of the expansion like the raised level cap. But if you've played Warcraft III at all, chances are you've been dying to take a crack at the icy and oh so evil roof of the world.

Welcome To Northrend
Hope you brought your long underwear...

Northrend, land of icy tundra, the collapsed nerubian empire, and the current lands of the Scourge and their leader: Arthas, the Lich King. Centuries of harsh conditions, infighting, and demonic plundering have left the lands a proving grounds for the most ardent of adventurers.
Northrend contains a number of zones and is greater in size to Outland in scope and complexity. While these zones are higher level, there is no current level requirement to get to Northrend. Here is a list of territories:
» Howling Fjord (68-72)
» Borean Tundra (68-72)
» Dragonblight (71-75)
» Zul'Drak (73-76)
» Grizzly Hills (74-76)
» Sholazar Basin (75-78)
» Crystalsong Forest (77-80)
» The Storm Peaks (77-80)
» Icecrown Glacier (77-80)
» Lake Wintergrasp (Outdoor PvP)

Hero Class: Death Knight
The Original Badasses of Warcraft

The Death Knights; Reincarnated servants of the demons and warlocks. These masters of the darkness have been around since the early days of Warcraft and have always been a fascinating character type to play in the game. Now, we'll get to play them in World of Warcraft.
The Death Knight is mostly finished, there are more and more screenshots and videos coming out of the woodwork these days, here are the basics:
» This class will be unlockable once a player reaches level 55 with one or more characters.
» Once unlocked, a player may create, not convert, a character to the Death Knight class, which will start at level 55 in Acherus, The Ebon Hold in the Eastern Plaguelands above Lights Hope Chapel.
» Death knights draw power not from mana, but from runes and various runic power combinations. The talent tree is divided into Blood, Frost, and Unholy.
» This class will be available to both Horde and Alliance factions.
For more information, check out the Death Knight Lens.
Profession: Inscription
Scrolls, enhancements, glyphs, and more!

Similar to jewelcrafting in a number of ways, inscriptions are designed to help augment various player spells and abilities as well as pumping out scrolls. The details for the profession have not been as exhaustive as the details about the Death Knights and Northrend, but nonetheless, here's what we know:
» Inscription is best paired with herbalism.
» Similar to prospecting, Inscriptions will introduce the sub-skill "milling" which works on herbs to produce materials for parchments and inks.
» Players will be able to augment spells and abilities by way of a special glyph interface attached to the spellbook.
» Glyphs can be of ranging variety, giving the bearer combat enhancements, durations enhancements, or delivering cosmetic changes.
» Glyphs can be traded on the auction house. Supplies can be obtained in Dalaran or Northrend (for now).
