Raiding in the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion Pack

World of Warcraft fans across the glove have been anxiously looking forward to the release of this expansion for the past 7 months. Finally the bugs were worked out and the game was released. Guilds rejoiced and gamers everywhere stood in line for the midnight release of the game.

But, now that you have it in your hands, and you've enjoyed a few of the new achievements, what is a high level character to do with all this additional game? Raids and dungeons of course!

Sartharion the Dragon 

located in the Obsidian Sanctum

This can be done on regular (10 man level 80) or heroic (25 man level 80) but the strategy for the two is basically the same.

Each of the three major dragons around him will drop a badge. However, not killing them and engaging them with the boss yields extra 80 epic loot. A nice reward if your group is prepared to go in blazing.

If this is your first run in with Satharion, it's probably best to wipe out the three dragons first before going after him. But, after you've had a practice run through for everyone to get an idea of what to expect, then definitely go for the extra epic. You might hold your breath the whole battle, but it's worth it to get the extra loot.

Instructor Razuvious 

This is a 10 man group job. Talk over your strategy and make sure everyone knows their role before you go in.

Makes sure going in that Instructor Razuvious is tanked by his death knight understudies, never tank him with your real tank. You're going to need that tank power later on. Then have your off-tank and 1 DPS (damage per second) use the mind control crystals to control the understudies.

Have one of your healers deal with disrupting shout, and jagged knife. Meanwhile, you want to have your other healers healing the MC'd understudies. Remember, the understudies are buffable.

Gothik the Harvester 

Another 10 man group job. If you haven't joined a guild yet, now might be a good time to start considering it. Otherwise, chat up your friends list and get together a group of 10 to do a few of these in a week or so. Working with the same group over time gives you a great advantage in the game.

For this boss you want to split into two groups of five once you're inside the boss area. The living side (room you enter into) should have two healers, and any of your groups mages. The undead side (right of where you enter) should have at least one healer, and you'll want any paladins on this side.

Communication is really important for this fight. Don't send a rider over until you know for certain that the undead side is ready for it. When Gothik finally comes down, it is going to be a DPS (damage per second) race. Kill on each side until the gate opens, then work as a group and kill together.
