Eye Candy for Your Wrist
Wrist cuff leather bracelets look amazing on your wrist and come in so many colors and styles, you'll have a hard time choosing just one.
It wasn't until I happened to be cruising Bravo one night and came across an episode of Real Housewives of Orange County that I'd even heard of wrist cuff leather bracelets. In that episode, Lynne, one of the housewives, was showcasing her own hand-made leather cuffs to a group of buyers and I was hooked.

How to Wear Wrist Cuff Leather Bracelets
My sister has long, slender arms and can where just about anything. On her, a thick leather cuff still slips around gracefully on her wrist. In my opinion, any bracelet, including a wrist cuff leather bracelet, looks better and is more comfortable if it is not snug against your skin. A little movement gives your cuff a little extra lift in grabbing attention. Wearing a wrist cuff leather bracelet large enough so that it can slip around a bit also makes your arms look more slender.
Match thick cuffs with chunky shoes or a thick belt for the most impact. If you can find the perfect match in color and detail, even better.

Everything about me is, however, is short including my fingers and wrists (it's really not fair when your baby sis is taller than you!). Thin width wrist cuffs look better on me so I shop for cuffs that are more narrow. I also like them to stand out so cuffs in either an eye-popping color or with great hardware and detail always catch my eye.
Since women's shoes often have buckles and metal details, it's easy to pair a wrist cuff leather bracelet with a great pair of matching shoes. I have a chocolate brown pair of sandles with a buckle on the top and found a matching chocolate brown cuff that had a similar buckle. I can wear those with just a great white shirt and jeans and let the wrist cuff leather bracelet and the shoes do all the work.
Simple Snap Wrist Cuffs in Leather
The easiest way to secure a cuff is with a snap enclosure. Studs and grommets (metal rings) are one of the most popular designs on leather cuffs and, funny enough, are becoming not just the traditional accessory of the tough and the mighty but hip, trend-setting bracelets.
Dress Up Your Wrist Cuff Leather Bracelets
Add your own trinkets

Linea Pelle Gunmetal Stud & Grommet Buckle Cuff-Steel
Ever tweak a piece of jewelry to make it different? I've taken jewelry sliders and added them to a strand of pearls or put them over two chains at once to make them unique or to customize the look. You can do the same thing with a wrist cuff. Use a charm trinket you already have or find some cool new ones and attach them around the buckle of a leather cuff like this one. Add a few, one for each of your special interests - a flower, a music note, or a kitten and you've taken your cuff from sharp to stunningly special.
Find the Right Charm
To add a charm to your wrist leather cuff bracelet, make sure the buckle or grommet of your cuff will allow you to attach a charm and then make sure the charm link is of sufficient size to go around the buckle or grommet. If it doesn't fit, any craft store will have jewelry attachments you can use to hold the charm on to the cuff.

New Cuff Colors

Linea Pelle Wide Contoured Cuff with Overlay- Violet
Purple is a strong color recommendation this year and while I don't have a lot of purple clothes, I can always add a touch of purple with a leather cuff. Some of these are so striking by themselves, they don't really need much more. They could be worn with a suit to the office or look just as well with a pair of jeans when you're out running errands.

Linea Pelle Skinny and Shiny Dome Studded Bracelets - New Spring Colors!
Even these strappy, little cuffs in great wisps of color can be worn in so many ways. These are well suited to layering either by wearing several in one color and mixing and matching them based on your outfit.

Retro wrist cuffs in leather
Alright, these aren't necessarily my type of wrist cuff, but my teen son LOVES them - even the one with the pink mushroom skeleton. They're totally cool so of course he absolutely had to have one.
These retro style cuffs work for guys and gals. They're made of thick, durable leather and two have belt-style closures suitable for almost any size wrist. Put them together with hip jeans and a cute tank or board shorts and a t-shirt and you're ready to go.
The website carrying these products carries a number of retro accessories and clothing. It's worth checking out if you're looking for something young and trendy.
How to Make Leather Cuffs
Projects and Directions
A simple leather cuff or wristband can be made fairly easily without much experience. I've found a few patterns and projects online with easy to follow directions for different styles of leather cuffs and bands. Follow the links below to see if one of these might be a suitable project.
- Baseball Style Leather Band
- This style of leather wrist band uses baseball stitching running down the center to give some dimension to the band. You can use these directions to make as think or thin a band as you want. The leather itself is painted in fabric paint, allowing you to choose your own color or you could leave the leather as-is for an unfinished look, just apply a coat of leather protector to keep the leather from getting damaged.
- Stamped Leather Wristband
- Make your own stamped leather wristband following these pictures and instructions. You can customize your own design, stamp your initials into the wristband or imprint a specific image outline, or leave it plain for a nice, simple look.
Do It Yourself Belt Cuff
Reuse and make your own wrist leather cuff bracelet

Linea Pelle Leather & Gunmetal Buckle Closure Slim Cuff-Black
I am the least crafty person I know so if I can make my own wrist cuff leather bracelet, you can, too. This is so simple!
Do you have an old leather belt that you don't wear anymore? My favorite, belts that come with pants and then I don't use the belt so they hang in my closet. If you have one of those with a standard belt buckle, try using it to make your own cuff.
1. With the belt buckled, place the belt around your wrist with the buckle on the top of your wrist.
2. Bring the excess portion of the belt together at the underside of your wrist and mark two cut lines. Your going to cut the belt in two places, leaving the buckle and peg intact. Make sure you have enough overlap at the two cuts in order to glue a snap enclosure.
3. Make the two cuts using the appropriate cutting tool. Scissors may not be enough for a thick belt.
4. Using leather glue and a snap enclosure, both of which can be found at any craft store, attach the snap pieces to the ends of your cut belt.
You're done, but you don't have to stop there. Add any other jeweled embellishments with the leather glue by placing them around the cuff in a pattern or haphazardly.
Recycled Leather Band Instructions
Leather Bands/Bracelets Using Recycled Materials - How To.
Read title ^__^ Basically how to make a band/bracelet-type thing with silver X's using an old belt, paperclips, and an old bra :) MAN it was long. I also include the kind of mistakes you might make, and how to fix them. I know, I know, "WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST USE STAPLERS YOU LOSER?" Hmm, well. I didn't have a stapler when I thought of this, and I think paperclips are more innovative. Plus, staplers are too thin and in my opinion dosen't look as good as the paperclip, but it works too I guess. Thanks for watching :D

- Yeah, very neat-lookin' lens! And the cuffs are neat, too. (Did I just say "neat" TWICE? I never even say it once.) But I like, I like.
