Writing an article just by itself is not going to make you any money. However, if you were to write an article about Overcoming Insomnia you could provide a link to a product that helps people deal with Insomnia. Research the Demand for your Products

There is no point in selling a product nobody wants. For every product you think is popular, visit Google Trends (just type that into google to find the page) and see how it is doing. Looking down the list of alternatives, we see another search term that is only getting 14 hits per day (which is still 420 hits per month). "What is insomnia".

Now you want to make sure that there is very little competition, go back to google search and type "What is insomnia", including the quotations. Why the quotations? Because this will search for sites matching the Exact search phrase. "What is Insomnia" only shows 16000 competing pages, not bad. A number like 16000 is absolutely doable, but if you can find search terms that have 5000 or less you're laughing.

Popping off a 250 word article is nothing and you'll find that the only real hurdle is our own willingness to sit down and do it. Just do it, don't think about it (this is the best advice I can give you). The only thing I will mention is that it is important to include your chosen search term in the article 3-7 times at least (including in the title). This will help the search engines find you easily. Do not worry about the link to your product, most article sites will not let you blatantly advertise from within the article itself; that's what the resource box is for.

Using goarticles or ezinearticles is probably your best bet. The problem is that neither of these sites will let you send a link to an affiliate link (a link that ends in your username from clickbank for example). No problem! You just need a landing page. Visit Squidoo and set up a Lens. You don't even necessarily have to write a whole new lens, just use the article you've already written (with a few minor changes) and include the link to your product there. Now any article you write about that product can be sent to that squidoo address.

Do not Purchase E-Books

This is the biggest downfall of aspiring Internet Marketers. E-books promising to teach you the latest money making technique are absolutely useless in the fast changing world of the internet. As soon as you buy the book another clever entrepreneur has figured out a better way. Find yourself a group of fellow Internet Marketers

There are lots of ways to make money on the internet and it is important to dip your feet into the cool waters of all of them. Doing the article marketing is just a start to a much bigger (and easier to manage) income in the future.
