Building a thriving writing business from nothing isn't rocket science, but it sure does help to have someone show you the way. Having a group of other writers who have the same goals, questions, fears, and hopes you do is a huge help. It's a "strength in numbers" kind of thing. Being able to bounce ideas and questions off of other writers, knowing that you're all headed in the same direction (and that there is absolutely no scarcity of writing clients and gigs out there!) creates a win for everyone.

As a writing business coach, I compare myself to a transportation director. I can help you get where you're going one on one, like a limo driver - or I can help a whole group of people get where they're going, like an airplane pilot. (Not sure where the barf bags come into this metaphor, but okay.) As part of a group, you're with others who are headed in the same direction. You may even find traveling companions who become your close friends and colleagues, sharing work, tips, prices, and feedback as you build your own businesses.

To keep the price down, and make this opportunity as accessible as possible, I've created a program that should fit easily into your budget - in fact, using what you'll learn, you'll be able to pay for each month of your membership with the fees from less than ONE writing project.

The price may very well go up - a lot. I'll tell you that upfront. I've never run my coaching program this way, so the first group will have all the benefits (and foibles!) of a beta program. As the wrinkles (and there are always some!) get ironed out, the price is likely to double. I'm not saying this as an example of stellar copywriting (smile), but just to forewarn you - if you've got friends who'd like 'in' don't wait to let them know about it. I'll grandfather you in, at least for a while - but won't make any promises about how long. Chances are, by the time the price goes up, your writing income will have grown so much that you won't even feel the increase.

So, for now, the price is $100 per month.

- Twice a month, we'll have a one-hour group call. It'll address the practical steps involved in building a thriving writing business. You'll have homework. You'll have required reading. You'll be challenged to take the next step to advance your business - and we'll hold you to the commitments you choose to make in the process.
- Twice a month, you'll have the opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching in our Working Writer Happy Writer coaching gym. This is a fifteen minute call that's laser-focused on you and your business.

How do you get into the group?

I've found that most people think they'd like to start a business, but never get around to even reading anything about it. You've obviously come further on the road by making it as far as coming to this page. Of those who buy and read a book, very few take the next step of doing something about it. Of those who are willing to do something, very few are willing to commit their time or money to making it work. This is where it gets tricky.

You see, there are lots of people out there who offer coaching programs - and they're probably very nice, very capable coaches. They're not writers, and they don't claim to be. They make their money from coaching. This is not me. I am a working writer. I could write day and night and never run out of projects. I followed the model my coach taught me, and it worked like magic. I've built a writing business - brick by brick - and it's changed my life. I know that I'm not special in the universe, though - if it worked for me, there is no reason it wouldn't work for you.

As a busy writer and mom, I've learned to guard my time. There's very little "throw-away" time in my schedule. That's why I go about my coaching program a little differently than other coaches might.

Rather than trying to get as many clients as possible, I'm kind of going the opposite way. I want our time together to be as profitable as possible so that your life is changed by your writing business. So, each mastermind group is limited to 6 - 10 members. This means there's got to be some sort of selection process.
