Low writing composition scores.

Too many kids do not have a solid composition foundation.

The REAL reason our students are getting low composition scores each year is due to the lack of sufficient writing training in the lower grades.

If we want our students to succeed, we must give writing training to all grade levels, not just the testing grades.

Experiencing this deficiency in students during my early years of teaching, I have developed new methods that models visual & auditory strategies at the bottom of the pyramid, then oral skills, next the reading and finally the writing skills.

In my in-class training, I show teachers how to analyze the pyramid level of their students. With that knowledge, they can then give specific instruction at that level and move up when the students are ready.

Building a strong foundation pays big dividends when testing time comes!

Testimonials

Some kind words from educators using The Write Prescription

Before Mr. MacDonald became part of our campus, we thought it was impossible to get 4's in Writing compositions. (4's represent the highest standing within Texas) Now we are the campus with the highest percentage of 3's and 4's in the entire district! His motivation, instructional materials, and strategies have proven to be very effective.

Principal, North San Juan Elementary
PSJA I.S.D., Texas

I want to tell you that the strategies are wonderful. They really helped my students be more creative in their compositions. The Writing Folders opened their eyes to the creativity that they had within them. The students enjoyed working with them. We appreciate the high expectations and quality you bring to Writing. It gives writing a reputation of "Yeah!" instead of the common "Oh, Miss!" in the classroom.
Ms. Sandra Moran
4th Grade Teacher, General Sanchez Elementary
Rio Grande City I.S.D., Texas

I just wanted to say thanks again for coming to our campus and sharing your ideas with us. I truly believe that what you did with the students inspired them to do their best. Your method of teaching writing really made an impact on the students. Not only did they learn what you taught them right away, they were able to reflect on themselves as writers.
