Repairing Your Xbox 360 The RIGHT way

There are a few ways that people say you can fix the "3 Red Light" or "Ring Of Death" error.  Most of them are wrong.  Some of them can cause serious damage to your unit.

First let me start off by saying Xbox 360s and even Computer for that matter DO NOT LIKE HEAT.  That is why they have fans, and heatsinks to distribute heat out.  Go to any CPU vendor website and they will tell you that Severe Heat to a CPU will cause permanent damage to the processors.

Be wary of the Xbox 360 Red Lights "Towel Trick"  Ive cooked a console doing that.  You may not think you are, but trust me the Towel trick breaks consoles.  After doing it a few times, you get more and more lockups, until finally the console freezes non stop.

What is the towel trick and what does it do?

If you are suffering from the dreaded 3 xbox 360 red lights problem, you may have come across a YouTube video that shows someone placing a towel around the Xbox 360, and then after running it for some time they remove the towel and see a working Xbox 360 with no red lights!

Why shouldnt you do this? Well I persoanlly have done this Xbox 360 towel trick, and it severely damaged internal components of my Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 is just like a PC, it can overheat and damage itself. When you put the towel around it it messes around with the internal sensors and puts them out of range. That is why the Xbox 360 will boot after doing this trick, and will have no red lights. The XBox just thinks the sensors are out of range, and ignores them.

All I can say about this is DO NOT USE THE XBOX 360 TOWEL TRICK It may work for a bit, but you REALLY need to fix the problem at hand. I have included a YouTube video of the Towel Trick Below.

Overheating components are NOT good.

This is the improper way to fix the problem. It will work as a temporary solution, but you'll always have the same problem over and over. Why not repair it PROPERLY and get it fixed for good?
