Things to try according to MicroSoft:

1. Make sure that the power cord is plugged directly into a known good wall outlet, and not plugged into an extension cord, surge protector, or power strip.

2. Let the power supply cool for several hours. The red light may indicate that the power supply has overheated. The power supply should turn back on after it cools. Make sure that the power supply has sufficient ventilation during cooling. Do not try to turn on the console while the power supply is cooling.

3. Try the power supply in a different wall outlet, ideally in another part of the house. To do this, follow these steps:a. Disconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console.

b. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.

c. Disconnect the power cord from the power supply.

d. Plug the cord into a known good outlet.

e. Connect the Power Supply Unit to the power cord, without the console connected. If the power supply light is still Red, the Power Supply Unit is defective or could be overheating. If you have followed the steps to let the Power Supply cool and put it in a well ventilated area, the Power Supply Unit will require service.

f. If the power supply light is Orange, reconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console and make sure that the connector is inserted fully.

g. Turn on the console. If the power supply light changes from Orange to Red after you connect the console, the problem is with the console itself and the console will require service.

4. If you have another power cord and power supply available, use it to test the console. If the console now powers on, you may need a replacement power supply. If the console does not power on, the issue may be wit
