INITIAL PREPARATION

Before repairing the console you need to check certain things first. Think twice or even thrice before opening your console without the video tutorials. OPENING THE BOX COVER

HEAT SINKS

The heat sinks are attached very rigid to the motherboard and you have to remove them very carefully. Both the heat sinks will be having screws at the four corners and you have to remove them by means of a spanner. Be careful while taking off the sinks as it may be glued to the processor by means of a paste material.

MAKING THE HOLES

Now, you need to place the heat sinks back in the same position without the X clamps. So you need to make some alternate arrangement to fix them. For this you have to do a small arrangement only. You are going to place the sinks in a screw and bolt arrangement. Hence you need a thick screw to hold the sinks. For that you need to make bigger holes in the frame and insert the screws along the holes to the motherboard exactly through the holes in the motherboard holes where the X clamps were previously placed.

FITTINGS

Holes made should be of proper size such that the holes diameter should exactly fit the screws. Note that the metal don't get any metal shipped away or protruding unevenly below. Once the hole making process is over, we need to place suitable bush or washers to have a firm support to the motherboard. The reason for placing these washers is to create an extra space for the air flow.

FIXING THE HEAT SINKS BACK

After the screws are ready, place the respected heat sinks over the processors. Another important thing is that, when you are choosing the screw length, choose a longer screw for the CPU heat sink. For GPU it's enough if you choose a smaller one. The screws play a vital role, so choose them carefully. Apply a suitable paste to keep the heat sinks fixed to the processors.

CHECKING THE CONSOLE

Before closing the box cover, check the console .Place all the components back to the motherboard and give the power supply to the console and try to boot the device. If the red ring of death is gone then the console is ready. If you found the red ring of death again then you have not placed the heat sinks properly. Try to fix the heat sinks and reboot the system till your device works properly. Once the light goes green, switch off the connection and cover the box and fix all the screws again.

ADDITIONAL SETUP

Additional setup is just a cautionary setup to avoid any further problems to the console. For example, you can provide a cardboard setup between the two heat sinks to avoid the hot air flow between the sinks. If you had any old PC graphical card fans or any third party inter cooler, you can use them to cool the heat sinks.
