Ok. It's true, this is all about Beer Magnets, with the added bonus of poem about the relationship between, "A Man, His TV, His Beer, and His Easy Chair". ******************* "First, A Brief History on The Magnet" Magnetic Lodestone, a naturally occurring magnetic stone, was studied and used by the Greeks as early as 500 B.C. Apparently there were other civilizations who knew of it even earlier than that. "Magnetic Lithos", is where the word "Magnet" comes from. Magnetic Lithos, meaning "the stone of Magnesia" refers to the region on the Aegean Coast that is now present-day Turkey. This is where these stones were said to be found. One of the first uses of "Lodestones" was as a compass, and said to have occurred in Europe around 1100 to 1200 A.D. Apparently Ships used them for navigation. "Lodestone" comes from the term "Leading Stone". ******************* So, from "Lodestones" to "Beer Magnets". Have we come a long way or what! I wonder what the people of history would say about the Beer Magnet - would they say, "what is Beer", "or what does it do", "or how does this compass work?". I'm sure they would be so proud of us? <---maybe not? - "we could tell them the "Beer Magnet" helps us "navigate" our way to the fridge? Would they ask us "what's a fridge?" - ok, I'll slap my own face now. :) Get "Beer-Brain Night Off" Here
