During major fire news coverage, firefighters will always take an opportunity to praise homeowners who are aggressive in maintaining a defensible space around their homes and using landscaping as part of their overall fire prevention strategy. In the face of fire&amp;amp;#8212;when minutes count&amp;amp;#8212;the right plant choices can make the difference between saving or losing your home. While fire-resistant plants can't prevent or stop flames, their stems and foliage won't contribute a significant amount of fuel to an existing fire. Fire-resistant plants are beautiful too, as you'll see in the photographs below.
