Squidoo: Newfoundland Puppy Dog's Tales

Suddenly the spring has sprung...the robins have even arrived! This is the time of year to set the "summer training" goals. This summer I want to REALLY work on my dog's training and on my own training, so a weekly practice date has already been set up with a couple of my friends...every Saturday at 2 pm, regardless of weather. furthermore, I have enrolled Phoenix in obedience...again. It never hurts to set up this sort of thing for yourself. ...

Even if you don't think you NEED to do these things, (your dog is already trained...you don't have time....etc., you always have excuses) it is a GREAT IDEA to setup a weekly practice "date" for yourself.
Another thing might be to set a goal for something NEW you are going to train your dog to do this summer. For e and Jenna, it will be working on cadaver scent and honing up and fine tuning her alert on the water, while for Phoenix it will be working (beginning stages) on cadaver scenting. But for anyone even if your dog is "only a pet"...how about teaching your dog a new trick? Set a goal. It makes life more fun and entertaining for your dog, and gives you quality bonding time with your dog!
