When I discovered juicing a few years ago, I had no idea that it would develop into such an all-consuming passion! I am now a juicing researcher, juicy writer, juice drinker, juiced-up motivator, and a juice extractor expert extraordinaire. In fact, I am so juiced that it will come as no surprise if the blood in my veins makes way for richly colored vegetable juice one of these days! While I do not see juicing as a cure-all, I believe that it can go a long way towards preventing illness and helping in the management of certain ailments, such as high blood pressure. However, if you have any illness, are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or want to give juice to a very young child, always start the juicing program in consultation with your doctor, and never change your prescriptions without his or her knowledge. That said, the benefits of juicing for health will astound you. Imagine how reassuring it would be to know that your family has painlessly upped their intake of fresh fruits and veggies. Imagine sending them on their way after relishing the goodness of a glass brimful with broccoli, cabbage, carrots, apples, celery, beet, cucumber and a touch of ginger for bite. Imagine being able to use juicing as a natural appetite suppressant in a sensible weight loss program. Imagine having this tool at your disposal whenever a sugar craving hits. Imagine making short shrift of water retention with the right combination of veggies in juice form. Be prepared to have your enthusiasm for juicing jazzed up! If you are hooked already, you may very well find a few interesting tidbits along the way. Ultimately juicing should be fun and a family activity. Take slow sips, and before you know it, you will have cemented a firm friendship with a shiny new ravenously hungry jumbo juicer...
