I've been involved in social networking for years. A lot of the sites I've used have been around for over ten years and I've built a major database of friends that i can turn to when I'm looking for people to sign up for my business opportunities, but that's not all I do with them. I also try to not abuse my list by sending them nothing but ads. Whenever I find something neat that I think will interest them, or a free gift that I know will help them to build their own list, that's what I send them. It's not a good idea to send out ads when you're working to build your list. The first thing you need to do is develop a sense of trust, and by sending them ads, you're just giving the idea that you're only out for yourself. You never want to do that! Friendship always comes first before business. Even if you're building a "brick and morter" business, you always want to have people who trust you for who you are, first of all, and not just your products. You name should speak for itself. If you've been helpful and given people a good deal on things in the past and not cheated them or made them feel like you were only in it for the money, they will tend to trust you more and want to buy products or services from you, not just because of the product or service but because you are who you are. Does this make sense?
