On the other hand it is the perfectly acceptable excuse for party animals from all over the world to convene in Bavaria's capital and drink as much beer as they can (afford) before they pass out. But there's more to the Oktoberfest than excessive alcoholism. Everybody who has joined the madness at least once in their life and survived will have their own personal memories to pass on to the next generation.
