By understanding how to fully and 100% positively understanding how to take care of thie species, one can raise a leopard gecko to leave an average of 10 - 15 years or more. But, you must know how to properly take care of a leopard gecko before you even think about bringing one into your home. Read up as much as you can- online care sheets and leopard gecko books. They're clean, social, friendly, intelligent, and just plain cute. Unlike most small animal pets, rats are least likely to bite. Where it takes time to socialize a hamster, gerbil, mouse, guinea pig, and the list could continue, rats pretty much come socialized. They want your attention. Of my personal experience with small animals, I will say that my rats have always been the friendliest. They look less socialization time than my chinchillas and always want to play. In comparison to my hamster, the rats wanted to see me even if I didn't have treats in hand. As for mice, rats are completely different as pets. Tribe status and rite of passage ceremonies are two reasons for primitive modifications. Warriors, puberty, marrage, etc. all are considered rites of passage. Baby and juvenile beardies need to have more proteins in the diet to supplement for growing bones and tissues, but they should still be provided with veggies. Baby bearded dragons should be given as many feeder insects as he will eat within 15 minutes, all uneaten insects should be removed. This should be done every other day. But, you're not getting away with just feeder insects when raising a bearded dragon. You should still provide him with fruits and vegetables DAILY, even if he doesn't eat them. Having the vegetation in the tank with him, will get him used to seeing it, so when he is older he will be more likely to eat the veggies on his own.
