Dwarfism and The Roloff Family

The Roloff family, is probably one of the more famous families of little people.

Father, Matt Roloff, and mother, Amy Roloff, are both little. They have two twin boys, Zach and Jeremy, to which Zach is little and Jeremy is normal sized. They, also have one daughter, Molly, and a younger son, Jacob.

The family lives on a large, 34 acre farm that includes a pumpkin patch and a peach orchard that the family opens to the public during the appropriate season, allowing them to pick their own fruits.

Matt Roloff is an author, actor, farmer, inventor, and business man. Amy Roloff is a preschool teacher and soccer coach. Together the team raises their children and awareness for little people.

How to Choose a Leopard Gecko

Although, leopard geckos are one of the best beginner reptiles, they need their share of proper care and attention. By understanding how to fully and 100% positively understanding how to take care of thie species, one can raise a leopard gecko to leave an average of 10 - 15 years or more. But, you must know how to properly take care of a leopard gecko before you even think about bringing one into your home. Read up as much as you can- online care sheets and leopard gecko books. I suggest you read everything. Then make sure that you know what you're getting before you bring it home. Don't pick out a dud, so to speak.

All in One Guide to Pet Rats

Surprisingly or not, rats really do make great pets. They're clean, social, friendly, intelligent, and just plain cute. Unlike most small animal pets, rats are least likely to bite. Where it takes time to socialize a hamster, gerbil, mouse, guinea pig, and the list could continue, rats pretty much come socialized. They want your attention. Of my personal experience with small animals, I will say that my rats have always been the friendliest. They look less socialization time than my chinchillas and always want to play. In comparison to my hamster, the rats wanted to see me even if I didn't have treats in hand. As for mice, rats are completely different as pets. As long as you know how to properly care for pet rats, you're all set.

Small dogs can be trained to use a litter box. They are actually great candidates for litter boxes because they have small bladders. Having a litter trained dog can be beneficial to allow the dog to "go potty" whenever they need to. This is helpful when you are at work and cannot let the dog outside.

Many people think "Pit Bull" and automatically think 'bad,' 'viscious,' etc. But on the other hand, pit bulls are sweet, loveable, wiggle worms. Statistically, the American Pit Bull Terrier, is the least likely dog breed to bite. That means over the All American breeds like the lab and retriever, the APBT is least likely of them all to bite a human. Go Figure!

Ear piercing is the oldest form of body modification with references dating into the early history of mankind. Carvings of soldiers in various parts of the Persian Empire displayed soldiers wearing ear rings. In southern India, most children had their ears pierced before they were five years old. Today, many children get their ears pierced around seven months to one year. Today, ear piercings extend further than the simple ear lobe. Today we have industrial piercings, rook, daith, helix, inner and outer conch, anti-tragus, orbital, and reverse lobe piercings.

Facial Piercings

Facial piercings have been very popular throughout the years. To include both primitive and modern cultures. Tribes once used body modifications as a rite of passage. They preformed various brandings, scarrings, and piercings. Tribes pierced the lips of women before marrage, adn stretched the piercing to mark the times. They piercings the cheeks of tribemembers, and wore bars connecting the piercings. Nose piercings began 4,000 years ago in Middle East as they were thought to make childbirth easier due to the placement of the female reproductive organs. Today, we still see these piercings amongst our culture, as well as many other facial piercings. For the most part our facial piercings do not have anything to do with Genesis (as Rebekah was given the gift of a nose ring) or even high standings in our society. For the most part, out facial piercings as well as other body piercings are just for aesthetic purposes.

Belly Button Piercings

One of the most popular piercings in today's youth-teen and young adult- is the navel piercing, also known as the belly button piercing. The most common navel piercing is through the upper ridge of the navel. Sometimes the navel piercing is through the lower ridge or the left and right ridges of the navel. In many cases it depends on the navel in question as to how the piercer will pierce the piercee. Some belly buttons are shaped differently, where they will not hold a standard navel piercings properly, so a bottom piercing must be done. And, in some cases, people like the look of having both, if not all four sides of their navel pierced. It's fun and interesting to have something different and unique, but before you do so, make sure you know how to take care of the piercing.

I was never really the biggest fan of Daschunds, although, I never really had much interaction with many, either. The only real thing I knew about the breed was that because of their long backs they shouldn't be allowed to jump on and off things, such as the couch or a bed. But, after I met this extremely overweight, miniature daschund named Bo, my mind was changed. Well, as I never really had an opinion about the breed, we'll say my mind was made up. Although, I wouldn't call it one of my favorite breeds, as that has been predetermined for years, but the breed is up there. I hold it in high regard, as a breed may go.

Creative writing can be considered any writing that is an original composition. But it is more commonly considered to be any writing, whether it be fiction or non-fiction, that is not professional, journalistic, academic, or technical.

Writing is a very helpful tool for anyone, no matter who you are or what your hobbies. Never thought about writing, it's ok; there's nothing to fear or worry.

Writing is a great way to share your thoughts, but not really share them.

Writing is a great way to get out your pent up emotions, without acting on them in real life.

When writing you can either write fictional or non-fictional scenarios, as either one will help you release pent up emotions.

Below, you'll find some great idea breakers as well as tons of great references to check out.

Body Modification

A big trend today in America would include tattoos and piercings. Young and old are doing it. Body modifications have become a popular industry. Body modifications started as tribal art in Africa, South America, Asia, and Australia with lip plates, ear plates, and cheek rods. They had different meanings and significances. Tribe status and rite of passage ceremonies are two reasons for primitive modifications. Warriors, puberty, marrage, etc. all are considered rites of passage. Body modifications today have changed greatly since the more primitive times, but the procedure has not. The only thing is we are more sanitary today, than the earlier tribes. You should remember the safest place to get a body modification is at a tattoo shop if it involved piercings, tattoos, brandings, scarification, etc. Or at a doctor's if it involves implants and surgeries.

Caring for Leopard Geckos

Leopard geckos are naturally found in Iran, Afghanistan, Western India and Pakistan, residing in deserts and arid grasslands. They like the dry and rocky landscapes, and because they are nocturnal animals, they spend the day beneath rocks and in burrows. Leopard geckos are terrestrial animals, spending much of their time on the ground; they rarely climb, and when they do, they can become clumsy. India sent leopard geckos to the United States from 1960- 1973 for legal protection; this is where the first high-yellow-phase banded bloodlines came from. Pakistan began exporting their leopard geckos worldwide later on; many captive-bred leopard geckos are the descendants from Pakistan ancestors. In the wild, leopard geckos tend to appear in one standard yellow color with black spots. It is thought that this is to help camoflage them from predators. Also, their bumpy skin helps to blend them into their surroundings, once again another camoflage they have to protect them from predators. But, in captivitiy, leopard geckos have developed into many different morphs (colors and patterns); many of which have developed from genes in wild caught leopard geckos.

Crested geckos are native to New Caledonia, which is about 900 miles east of Australia. They are indigenous to the largest island, Grand Terre, and the Isle of Pines to the south. Because crested geckos weren't reported being seen in their native environments, many believed they had gone extinct. In 1994, the species was found on the Isle de Pins. These geckos are an arboreal species, and since they are nocturnal, they spend their days hiding amongst leaves and branches.

Crested geckos are fairly new to the pet market when compared to other pet reptiles and geckos in the trade. But, that doesn't mean they are any harder to care for. Actually, they make one of the best beginner reptiles because of their ease in captivity. Although, the average lifespan is unknown, it is estimated that they can life an average of 10-15 years like most other pet geckos when at their optimum health and care. So, when bringing home a crested gecko, you should be familiar with how to properly care for the species and how to choose a healthy gecko. Becuase even if you know everything about the care and husbandry of crested geckos, if you bring home a sick gecko, you may be in for a long ride.

Intersexuality is the state in which a person's sex chromosomes, genitalia, and/or secondary sex characteristics are determined to be neither exclusively male nor female. A person who is considered intersex may have biological characteristics of both the male and female sexes.

The medical definition of intersexuality is "conditions in which chromosomal sex is inconsistent with phenotypic sex, or in which the phenotype is not classifiable as either male or female".

With this exact definition, people who are intersex can be seen seen to be about 0.018% of the population.

The intersex condition is ruled as a hereditary one.

When I brought home my APBT puppy, M.I.A., one of the first toys that I brought home for her was a PetStages toy. Well, I actually brought two of them home, initially, and then another.

At 4 months old, she still picked up her Pet Stages puppy toys and through them around the house.

Currently, MIA is almost 11 months old and over 60 pounds and she can only play with the harder Pet Stages toys. She is a big fan of her Pet Stages dog toys.

Dogs of mixed breeds can be considered a variety of things. I mean they're called mixed-breeds, mutts, mongrels, crossbreeds, and other things, those being the most common. Mix breed dogs are the most common effect of unwanted and unexpected litters. In many cases, these dogs end up in shelters and pounds. And sadly, sometimes euthanized. Mixed breed dogs can make great pets, as in most cases they get the genes from both, or all, the breeds involved in its making. And, most of the time they inherit the good stuff versus the bad. Many mixed breed dogs will have great temperaments. You may, also, find that many of them are easily trainable, as well. Sometimes, these mongrels may have behavioral concerns, but with time, care, and love, you can easily turn them around. You may think that the mutts at the animal shelter are there because they're bad and uncontrollable, but in reality, they're there because the didn't have the right owner at first. Yes, there truly is one right owner for every dog. The right owner would have worked with the dog's jumping problem, or corrected the digging and excessive chewing concerns

Other methods of torture included cutting off noses and ears, mutilating sexual organs, scalping, skinning, exposure to the elements of wild animals, and burning alive. Vlad's reign in power was relatively short, but because of this infamous torture methods, vampire myths surrounded him. So, when he died, he was decapitated, as decapitation is one of the leading preventatives of vampirism. Vlad Dracula was the basis for Bram Stoker's Dracula.

The modern-day Pomeranian is the descendant of the sled dogs from Greenland and Lapland, which were brought to Pomerania, which is in Europe. The breeders in Pomerania improved the breed's coat. They, also, bred the dog down to a smaller size for city living. The dogs were about 20 pounds when they reached England. There, English breeders, reduced the size further. They are those who are responsible for the different colors the Poms now come in.

When I was 13 years old, I finally won my parents over into getting an inside dog. At the time, I had two outdoor dogs (a bird-dog mix breed and a Dalmatian), but I wanted an indoor dog. When they finally agreed, the compromise what that it had to be a small dog. I did my research, and decided upon a Yorkshire Terrier... It may not have been the best choice, but it was my choice, and I was not aloud to change it or I wouldn't get a dog at all. To this day, my parents wish that I had chosen a different breed. Not to say that Yorkies are a terrible breed... They just have a few more bad apples in the bunch that other breeds... But then again it is a small breed and a terrier.

Bearded Dragon Diet Guide

Bearded dragons are omnivorous, eating both fruits and vegetables as well as insects. When feeding a bearded dragon you need to make sure that you can provide both a feeder insect as well as fruits and vegetables. One without the other, means an unhealthy lizard.

Age should always be taken into consideration when feeding a bearded dragon. Baby and juvenile beardies need to have more proteins in the diet to supplement for growing bones and tissues, but they should still be provided with veggies. An adult bearded dragon diet should consist of mostly fruits and veggies.

Baby bearded dragons should be given as many feeder insects as he will eat within 15 minutes, all uneaten insects should be removed. This should be done every other day. But, you're not getting away with just feeder insects when raising a bearded dragon. You should still provide him with fruits and vegetables DAILY, even if he doesn't eat them. Having the vegetation in the tank with him, will get him used to seeing it, so when he is older he will be more likely to eat the veggies on his own.

Adults can be given feeder insects twice a week, and again, never leave uneaten insects in the tank. So, after about fifteen minutes, remove the uneaten insects. As for fresh fruits and vegetables, provide them daily.

Surface Piercings and Migration

When you get a piercing, it is nothing more than a foreign object through your skin. Many times, your body will treat the jewelry like a splinter and try to push it out. Surface piercings are very prone to this migration. Surface piercings are different than many and most piercings. The way a surface piercing works is that a barbell, shaped like a staple with two 90 degree angles, one on either end, is pushed through one hole in the skin and exits another. The shape of the barbell makes it easier for the body to push the jewelry out, which makes healing even more difficult. Only skilled piercers should practice this type of piercing, as the rejection rates are so high. A lot of skin tissue can be damaged with this piercing. The more experienced the piercing, the less chances you have to rejection. As surface piercings are so sensitive, once healed, if you bump it several years down the road, you can invite the migration and rejection process. You do not want to even start this process, as it is very hard to stop, and if you do not remove the jewelry before it is too late, you will be left with very ugly scars.

I remember reading the series when I was younger. My older cousin had an entire bookshelf of the scary books writen by R.L. Stine, so I had to try it out. I was hooked. Stine wrote most of his books to have one main plotline to be followed throughout the story. Other books, you, the reader, were able to choose where they went. I liked those the best. At the bottom of the page, a two options were provided to how YOU wanted to story to go, and a page number to follow. The Goosebumps series expanded the reading population unto a television series and plentiful DVDs and videos. This series of scary stories makes a great gift for children between the ages of 9-12, but of course anyone can read and enjoy the scary Goosebumps tales.

Halo is a cultural phenomenon. Early sales reports indicate that Halo 3 has a higher first day gross than other major media releases such as Spider-Man 3 and Harry Potter’s final book. Halo is the franchise that saved Xbox for Microsoft, and essentially legitimized first person shooters on a console. Since Halo 3 is the supposed end to the trilogy, gamers can rest assured that the story does come to a satisfying conclusion this time around, with no cliffhanger ending to worry about. With that said, there’s clearly more room to explore the Halo universe. I wouldn’t be surprised to step into Spartan armor again in the near future, if not the Master Chief’s himself. Halo 3 serves as a fine conclusion for the trilogy as we know it.

Baby monitors can offer both relief and comfort when you cannot watch your baby, such as when the baby is sleeping in another room. That's why it's important to find the best baby monitor for your needs, as not every baby monitor will fit everyone. Standard baby monitors come in three varieties- plugged-in monitors, mobile monitors with rechargable batteries, and video baby monitors. Mobile monitors work great when you want to walk around the house, but still be able to hear the baby through the monitor. If you want to be able to see the baby as you're walking around doing chores around the house, then a mobile video baby monitor may suit your needs best. Well known brands with excellent baby monitor reviews include: Angelcare baby monitor Fisher Price baby monitors Graco baby monitor Imonitor digital baby monitor Philips Dect baby monitor Safety 1st baby monitors Summer baby video monitor.

How to Make a Lensography

A Lensography is a great way to share the lenses that you've made. You can separate themes of your lenses into different lensography sections. For example, if you have several basic themes such as dogs, cats, fish, and hamsters. Create four different lensography lenses, each displaying the lenses that you've created for each theme.
You may even want to create a lensography to show off all of your lenses.

Ball Python Care

The name "Ball," comes from the snake's tendency to curl into a tight "ball" with their heads hidden. The name "Royal," on the other hand, derives from Cleopatra, who supposidly wore the snakes around her wrists. Ball pythons, also known as Royal Pythons, are a nonvenomous snake that is native to the savannahs and the rain forests of western Africa. They prefer to live in areas of mixed grassland and tress, and are most active at night, spending most of their days hiding in rodent burrows and termite mounds. Ball pythons are considered constrictors, meaning they subdue their prey by coiling around them to suffocate it. Ball pythons are typically light brown-green and black with a tan-yellow underbelly. But, they are available in many morphs.

The dog is compact, and had many terrier-like qualities in regard to temperament.

Great Danes are the true gentle giants. Where the small breed dogs believe they are much larger than they are, most Danes, believe they are mush smaller. Many Great Danes are nothing more than lap dogs, or at least think they are. Great Danes tend to be the Beta in the Alpha-Beta dog roles, but as with everything else, there are exceptions to the rules. And, just because they are such a large dog, it doesn't mean that they are outside dogs. These dogs are actually much better inside dogs, as they have thin coats that cannot keep them warm in the cooler months, or at night. So unless, you can provide a heated dog house, you may want to dog proof the bathroom, utility room, or kitchen. Or just let him on the couch. ;-)

Vampires are one of the most mysterious of the mythological lore. There are different variations of the vampire throughout the different cultures. In today's society, we have somewhat glorified the blood sucking creature that is. We're made movies and written books surrounding them. Bram Stoker's Dracula, is one of the more famous vampire books. It uses Vlad Tepes as a base, with his horrific history of ruthless murder. Anne Rice has written several vampire lore stories to inlcude Queen of the Damned and Interview with a Vampire that have been made into movies. She has her Vampire Cronicles, as well. Vampires are, also, a popular Halloween costume. Sexy vampires, gothic, historic, and victorian vampires, alike.

You can wear nose screws, nose bones, and CBRs in a nose piercing. You can even wear ear rings with butterfly backings, although they are not recommended in any piercing as they can harbor bacteria in the backing. It takes an average nose piercing to heal in about 3 to 6 months, average.

Elizabeth Bathory is a true vampiress. She was known for her blood baths (literally), in which she would soak in the blood of virgin girls from her county. Bathory felt that the blood of young women would help make her appear younger by removing the lines of old age. The Blood Countess was tried in two trials with nothing more than a criminal basis, whil her cohorts had charges of vampirism, witchcraft, and practicing pagan rituals. After the last trial, despite the bodies her her basement, Bathory was sentenced to imprisonment in her own castle, while he cohorts were burned alive. Bathory was found dead at the age of 54. Her body was burried in the northeastern Hungarian town of Ecsed.

A Guide to Dog Training

Training your dog can be a huge concern in your family. How do you do it? First off, you don't need long training sessions that will last hours... Choose small sessions ten to twenty minutes at a time, but make multiple sessions in a day. This way, the puppy or dog, will not get bored. If you choose one big session every day, you're choosing to cram you dog with the information, like craming for a test. People learn better in smaller sessions and so do dogs. Use small training treats. Break up larger treats. Don't show any frustration towards your dog. He will feel the emotions, and will get frustrated just as you are. Professional Training such as the trainers are Petsmart and Petco or other training facilities in you area, could help you with your techniques. It can help you get over some of the bumps of training. HAVE FUN! Do not get discouraged if you dog isn't getting it as quickly as you'd like. Don't move to fast for him, or he won't get it. Move at his pace. The first thing you should understand is the different forms of learning.

They need lots of special care and attention, same as though one would give a newborn. Puppy proof your home before bringing home a new puppy. Remember the most important things of owning and raising a puppy- food, shelter, and TOYS!! chew toys, soft toys, squeaky toys. Puppies need play times and rest breaks. Puppies need your love, to make sure that you know how to properly care for a puppy by reading up. Grab the latest puppy raising and puppy training books that you can.
Troy University

Troy University’s tradition of teaching excellence dates to its founding on February 26, 1887, when an act of the Alabama Legislature established Troy State Normal School as an institution to train teachers for Alabama’s schools. In 1893, the school was renamed Troy State Normal College. The Normal College offered extension courses for teachers and granted teaching certificates until 1929, when the State Board of Education changed the charter of the institution and renamed it Troy State Teacher’s College. The decade of the 1950s also marked the University’s long relationship with the United States Military, as extension courses were offered on nearby bases, first at Fort Rucker, near Dothan, and later at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. In April of 2004 the Board of Trustees voted to drop "State" from the University's name to better reflect the institution's worldwide mission. And in August 2005, all TROY campuses were again unified under one accreditation.

My father has started deep frying our Thanksgiving Turkey the past several years. He started when he went camping with his brother, who had been frying turkey for a year. When they were camping my uncle fried a turkey for dinner, one night. My father was hooked. From then on, Thanksgiving is no longer a baked turkey, but a fried one. When you fry turkey you need to take a few precautions, as if you're not careful, it can and will catch on fire. It is the number one fire hazard during the Thanksgiving season.

The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. It's though that St. Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra, in modern-day Turkey. St. Nicholas was admired for his piety and kindness, so he became the subject of many legends. It is said that he gave away all of his inherited wealth and traveled the countryside helping the poor and sick. One of the best known of the St. Nicholas stories is that he saved three poor sisters from being sold into slavery, or prostitution, by their father. He provided them with a dowry, so that they could be married. Over the course of many years, St. Nicholas's popularity spread and he became known as the protector of children and sailors. His feast day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, December 6. By the Renaissance, St. Nicholas was the most popular saint in Europe. Even after the Protestant Reformation, when the veneration of saints began to be discouraged, St. Nicholas maintained a positive reputation, especially in Holland. Could St. Nicholas, be Santa Claus?

When I was in the fourth grade, my grandmother decided it was time to get another dog. My aunt's coworker just had a littler of dalmatian puppies. So, my mother went with her. Now, I already had a male mix breed dog, at the time; he was, not neutered, so bringing home a female dog was out of the question. But, anyway, my mother went with my grandmother, not expecting that there was only two pups left- two males. One looked like the father- a broad built dalmatian with a thicker coat, and the other looked like the mother- a standard thin built dalmatian with a thinner coat. Well, my grandmother chose the thicker built puppy, loaded with spots, even at a young age. My mother broke down and brought home the thinner, solid white puppy. We went through name after name, until my father spurt out 'Zabu.' To this day, no one knows where he came up with it, not even him. But it stuck, and after a few weeks of getting it wrong, we eventually starting saying it right. Zabu is the typical dalmatian, high energy and high strung. But as sweet as he can be.

Considering that over 5 million toys have been recalled this year, I think that our toy manufacturers should take more care into who they are highering. About 16 million magnet toys were recalled, yet there's one still on the shelves.. Go figure... Why not pull everything that poses a serious threat off the shelves? Well at the same time we want to protect our children, these toys do come with warnings, but at the same time, most things do that have the potential to kill or seriously harm.
