Blue roses signify a meaning of impossible or unattainable love, and soon you will be able to hand-deliver or send them to your loved ones. Real blue roses did not exist in nature, and were dyed blue by florists for many years, until 2004 when Suntory in Japan successfully created them through genetic engineering, by removing the prominent red pigment producing gene. Test batches are currently being grown, and blue roses are expected to be available for sale in US retailers starting in Autumn of 2012. Whether ladybugs are actually lucky or not, they choose to make our home THEIR home also. I've always loved birds and found their close interaction with humans to be fascinating. I quickly sprint across my living room to grab the camera when there's a hawk or an eagle nearby in a tree, the wild birds are kept fed from an iron feeder hanging on my balcony, and I have made great friends with a spunky little chickadee who loves to hop around my rose bushes when in full bloom. I used to breed finches for a number of years before my own little kiddies kept me occupied, and for a while I worked in a pet store taking care of parrots, cockatiels, parakeets, lovebirds, finches, and an umbrella cockatoo. My husband would frequently stop by to carry around his little buddy "Spike" (who was a funny little green conure that liked to spin around your fingers). We've waited a number of years before even thinking of finding a large bird of our own, knowing full well what type of responsibility and care they require. We probably would've waited even longer, however Sangria the Eclectus Parrot decided to steal a place in our hearts, and in return - we've offered her our wonderful home to call her own...
