If I had to die from eating one buttery, cheesy, gooey comfort food...it would have to be for Homemade Baked Macaroni and Cheese! How about you?

Whipping up my mom's recipe for baked macaroni and cheese, spotlighted on this page, is true comfort food that settles down even the most restless spirit. Simply add steamed veggies, a crisp green salad, cut-up seasonal fruit or a side of your choice with any of these extra delicious mac and cheese dishes for a warm and satisfying meal tonight!

Enjoy every bite, please make sure to let me know how your baked macaroni and cheese dish turned out by leaving a note in the guestbook. Oh and don't miss the ketchup debate either! It's been interesting hearing everyone's thoughts.

Over 101 Words That Describe Food

This is dedicated to all of you that write about food - use these descriptive food words to spice up your writing. After all, writing about food, grasping and engaging the right word or words can be a challenging task. Challenging in the sense that you don't want to sound like everybody else out there doing what you love best...blogging about and crafting articles about food.

Initially I thought there would be a nice listing of 50 or so words...wow was I surprised. When I started typing in the food-related words familiar to me, along with doing searches for more, this page has resulted in well over 100 words! 100 lovely, tasty, some even juicy, food and cooking terms to spark your imagination and to sprinkle in your creative writing.

Please feel free to utilize this page as you are writing - consider it your food vocabulary resource and reference guide. Scroll down a bit to read my intentions and if I could ask one favor of you, it would be to not copy the sentences describing the food terms in a blog post or article that you are creating, instead, use them as a guide to fuel your own creative writing...thank you!

Now...let's go "eat" some words! :-)

It is no fun being a cantankerous hell-on-wheels! Especially if you aren't used to it! Well I knew something was wrong when my usual charming self found it okay to flip the bird to someone that ticked me off on the highway - thank goodness I don't live in LA or NYC, I'd probably be dead! Or how's about finding myself befuddled and not able to find common words or recent memory in day-to-day conversations, sure kicks those hot flashes up a notch! Simple to the point, menopause sucks, unless of course you look to the lighter side! Word to the wise: Get over it! Get on with it! Get your attitude in check, we can't help our's!

Lasagna Primavera a 5 Star Meatless Monday Recipe

This recipe for Lasagna Primavera is the best I have ever made! To tickle your taste buds I've included photos of the first time I ever made this lasagna. My family gave rave reviews on this recipe - that makes this one a keeper!

I'm not one to follow a recipe verbatim, so my recipe has a few tweaks to the original winner by Janet Sutherland. One of the best is to use no-cook lasagna noodles. Prep and bake this dish on Sunday, then heat and eat for a Meatless Monday dinner! Freeze the leftovers or pack for lunches...I'm hedging a bet that anyone smelling this as it reheats (hmm...co-workers come to mind :) would be asking for this best ever pasta dish.

Have you been pondering the purchase of a new camera expressly for taking food blogging photos? Do you find yourself getting frustrated due to the mountains of technical information you have to wade through to get an answer? Have you found yourself tempted to throw up your hands, grab grandma's Browning, take shots, and fix 'em up in Photoshop? I hear ya!

Those issues, along with a few others, sent me on a mission. A mission to pick the minds of my favorite food bloggers about the cameras they use to capture ahh-mazing food shots. Graciously, each has agreed to go along with my idea for this article...to share their camera of choice, along with a stunning food photo, and a paragraph or four about why they love their camera.

This is the most honest discussion about choosing a camera I have ever read on the Internet...I am pleased to be the one to bring you this information complied from a group of stellar food bloggers that I know and highly respect!

On October 12th I got a new knee - I'm proudly and loudly calling it my bionic knee!

Using the Visionaire Patient Matched Instrumentation (layman's term - customized alignment tools) my orthopedic surgeon, from OHSU Hospital in Oregon, worked with his skilled hands and a brilliant surgical team to replace my bum knee with a brand spanking new, high tech knee.

This knee replacement has actually added a whole new chapter to my life story...once the surgery pain wears away I've already anticipated living pain free, being able to walk, stand and truly enjoy my day-to-day activities. My first order of business is to follow my physical therapist's plan of exercises, plus I'd like to get out to the garden to do little things in preparation for spring :)

On this page find...

- My personal story about my knee replacement

The Best Ever Bread and Butter Pickles

Seriously these are the best homemade bread and butter pickles you will ever pick out of a jar and put on a sandwich or gobble down by the spoonful! My garden each year is planted with these bread and butter pickles in mind.

I had grand ideas of tomatoes, different kinds of squash, plus more, then I read an article...oh lordy please don't make me remember, although I think it was Sunset, Mother Earth News or some similar magazine article that spoke of planting what you really want to harvest and will actually use. My bread and butter pickles came to the forefront and confirmed my decision to plant cucumbers, sweet onions, green peppers, and garlic. I rely on finding the rest of the ingredients for my bread and butter pickles at my local farmer's market or green grocer.

Psst! My jars are usually garage sale finds...even the dusty, been in boxes for years can be scrubbed clean with a bit of soaking and elbow grease. Note: Run your finger around the rim to make sure there are no defects...otherwise your jars will not seal properly with water bath or pressure cooker processing.

So without further ado and chit chat...I am great at making a short story longer, read on to get the recipe to awe all your family and friends :)

The first time I tried Alaskan King Crab Legs the flavorful seafood experience was quite incredible. When crab is cooked correctly it is delicate, sweet and never chewy. I prefer eating it from the shell, especially if I'm dipping it in clarified butter with a side of lemon...ooh geez my mouth is watering just thinking about this meal!

Happened upon the featured video by Chef Jason Hill a few months back demonstrating the ease of grilling king crab legs, tried it here at home and this chef is right on spot. Not only is this seafood recipe easy, the flavor from barbecuing the crab imparts smoky notes I'd not tasted with king crab legs in the past. Delicious and well worth a try! Now let's head in so you can check out the grilling recipe for yourself.

From langosta (clawless lobster) in Puerto Rico to fresh lobster when we lived in Maine and now Chef Hill's recipe for grilled king crab legs...I know my shellfish, plus I know how I like it. I've got a couple other tasty treats in store...so make sure you scroll to the end :) Image Credit: King Crab Legs - 3 lb packs available at LobsterAnywhere.com

Pickling vegetables happens to be one of the best ways to preserve the bounty of the season's. There is no denying summer has most gardens busting loose with veggies from A to Z, although fall, winter and spring have some great pickling competitors...pack 'em into a jar and add the powerful punch of pickling.

The easiest ideas for preserving the flavor are included on this page, along with plenty of tips too. Thankfully my grandma's and my mom taught me a lot of the bests about canning and preserving. In fact, one of my most treasured wedding gifts was a complete canning set...over 28 years later I'm still using it in my kitchen.

If you are timid or unsure about where to start, try some of the refrigerator preserving recipes included here. If you are a pro canner...please, please share your ideas in the guest book, drop us a link to your recipes and ideas too!

How To Make Tostones (Twice Fried Plantains)

Lucky me lived in Puerto Rico and learned how to make tostones from plantains that grew in my yard! Today I pick up plantains at my local grocery store. You bet I'd love to be back living in Puerto Rico just a stones throw away from the white sandy beaches...sipping a Bacardi rum punch and munching on salty, crisp tostones! Doesn't that sound heavenly?

Tostones, also known as patacones, banan peze and plantain chips, can be made for a deliciously different appetizer or added as a side for chicken and pork dishes. If you prefer not to cook and or eat fried food there are a myriad of recipes that use plantains available on the Internet and in many Latin food cookbooks.

What you'll find on this Squidoo page - How To Make Tostones...
- Information about plantains that includes storage and health benefits
- Photo tutorial to help you make tostones at home
- Videos with step-by-step instructions
- A printable recipe for your files, plus much more

Top Ten Bento Gadgets and Tools

Ever since reading more over at The Kawaii Bento Club - the ideas created over there are spectacular - I've thought about making bento here at home too. As I browsed different pages about bento that included recipes, videos and tons of ideas it became clear to me that I'd need at least a few other gadgets and tools to pull this off.

This is my top ten list of things that I would love to have and thought they'd be practical for your kitchen too. While I probably won't be making any of the "cute" food, our boys are grown so I'm not making school lunches anymore, the premise of bento is what intrigues me the most. It's a healthy way to eat and in the right portions eating this way can definitely help with weight control.

I really like the larger Mr. Bento stainless steel container for my husband. It would keep his food hot while he is working out on the rails and would provide enough to keep him fueled until he made it home for dinner. The smaller bento box is perfect for me. The portioned containers would also give me the visual of a proper sized meal and if I ate small portions from the box throughout the day it would be enough to keep the edge off, help with that bad snack attack that hits when I 'forget to eat'.

Enjoy your browse, make sure to participate in the polls and drop a line or two in the guest book with your ideas and comments. Thank You!

My dad was great at strummin' the guitar and mom made sure we had the perfect 'outfit' in our chest full of accessories.

My Favorite Things, in particular, was the best! Especially during the holidays it reminds me of:

~ good times with family

~singing as if no one is watching

~the smell of fresh baked cookies and cider

~a scrumptious home-cooked meal

~getting bitter cold and then snuggling up by the fire

In celebration of "My Favorite Things"... ENJOY!!

Positive Thinking - Seven Points to Ponder

A bright idea, setting personal goals, working through a problem takes a combination of motivation, creativity, and positive thinking. If you put your best foot forward, even if the plan fizzles or takes a dramatic turn, it can certainly make a difference about how you view the ultimate outcome Before you proceed ask yourself a few simple questions:

What prompts you to get motivated? (...money, frustration, helping others)
Is there something in particular that stirs your creative side? (...crafts, a project, a cause)
How can you sustain a positive attitude? (...mindset, persistence, review)

Connecting your experiences with the answers to the simple questions can help you realize things that you never thought possible. Contact me anytime with your questions and comments. <!-- wysiwyg -->

The Gift of Friendship

When it comes to friends, what is important to you? The beautiful thing about friendship is being able to share our achievements, our goals and our hopes and dreams, as well as showing our friends that we care about them unconditionally.

Making friends on the web can be easy, yet we often hold ourselves back. Many times we don't allow ourselves to become true friends until we reach a certain understanding and trust.

Friendship is something that many feel can be made in a close community such as Squidoo. And within the community of Squidoo, there are smaller groups created that help people grow even closer.

This gift guide is about friendships and wonderful gifts we can give to our friends, online as well as offline.

From day one, due in part to a very special instructor Pat, I knew I'd made the right decision. It felt so right, I excelled, and found myself helping other's in the class that were struggling with all kinds of life issues. In hindsight, I truly believe that my eagerness and maturity played a huge part in my success.

If you are considering a career change, desire to help people, have compassion and respect in your heart then being a medical assistant may be a perfect fit for you too.

Green Chile Stew - Green chile recipies

Leaves are turning and a few are already dropping from the trees. A chill is already in the air...

And if you live in the southwest the green chilies are roasting... the smells wafting into the streets.

Many people buy them by the 50 pound bags and take them out in front of the stores to be roasted before taking them home to freeze.

The green chile is something of a cross between a bell pepper and a jalapeno, they average about 6 inches long, and range in flavor from mild to hot.

Fresh green chiles have a wax-like coating and should be firm and shiny. Avoid purchasing green chiles that are beginning to get wrinkled and/or are turning red.

Green chile stew is one of the favored ways to eat these roasted peppers. A hearty, comforting dish with a wide variety of recipes that range in taste and flavor. On this page you will be discovering the best of the best green chile stews. Bon Appetite!

Meditation Can Change Your Life

Meditation for beginner to expert practitioners works best when attempted in silence and can offer some golden moments for reflection. Additional benefits include inner peace, reduction of anxiety, creativity and slowing or reversal of aging. Achieving a quiet in your head takes you to the center of yourself, where discovery blossoms and as Bill Moyers states in a 1993 Psychology Today article, it is "part of working on oneself to develop your inner capacity".

Commonly linked to spiritual disciplines, this health practice is more recognized today as people around the world experience positive effects and more practitioners openly share their expertise. We shall take this journey together; in learning, in life, in peace.

When I was a kid I loved opening up my lunchbox to find a Fluffernutter sandwich inside. Mom always balanced it out with fruit and a milk ticket. :)

Still enjoy a Fluffernutter sandwich from time to time...brings out the kid in me. While the traditional sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmallow cream is my favorite, there are other ways to make a Fluffernutter and many recipes even veer way out into left field! Today there are Fluffernutter cupcakes, whoopie pies, and beverages...just to name a few.

Come on in, let's have some fun, we are all about Fluffernutters in here!

10 Life Questions | Ponder These Points

Consider asking yourself these 10 questions, ponder them thoughtfully and passionately, making them a part of your "get up and on with life" song! Re-examine your answers from time to time because as we know, life is ever changing and you'll be amazed how your views transform.

Aspirations equal ambition, hope, desire, wishes and should be a part of your dream for life. Being comfortable and contentment is not a bad thing. What can be sad though is if through comfort and content we pass up on finding something deeper and more meaningful. We are in this thing called life together! -clouda9

Our Cutest Ever Nubian Goats

Goats are joyful, social, and ornery animals all rolled up into one sweet little furry package. As new goat owner's we had not a clue what we were really getting ourselves into or that our hearts would be taken, broken, and mended all in a matter of a few months.

Our goats are Nubian, or as we call 'em here at home bunny goats because of their big floppy ears. If you are thinking about owning any breed of goat, I highly recommend that you be prepared for the ups and downs of ownership. Because goats are ruminants (they have four stomachs and digest their food in a unique way) it is of particular importance to understand as much as you can about a goat's diet. Know this...goats are not replacements for your broken down field lawnmower and sudden diet changes are not only unhealthy for goats, it also throws off the important balance of the bacteria in their tummies. Thank you for joining us on our journey, we'll learn and discover more about goats right here on this page.

The photo above is Stuart our goat, enjoying fresh picked strawberries! In October of 2009 Stuart passed away after a painful, both for him and us, battle with urinary calculi. Make sure to check out the link if you have or are thinking of owning goats, the page is filled with tons of information and more resources.

What's not fun or humorous about imagining being a reindeer for a day? Come on...put on your silly kid-like skin..let down your shield of being proper and unyielding! Give your lips a smile.

For me...I'd get to wear, or pretend to wear, hooves and clop around the house. At least for a day or so I'd have an excuse for being rather clumsy. Also, as a reindeer if somebody looks just a tadbit crossed-eyed at me I'd have horn power! Stop! - I did say horn power...not horny power! That would be a boy reindeer...I'm a girl reindeer having fun for a day...thank you very much!

Moving forward...enjoy your browse and all my reindeer stories. I won't be too hurt if you scroll on past my rather wilder imaginative thoughts...to each their own, I say!

As a tradition for many a Christmas my Grandma Katie would make us a homemade-with-love loaf of Cardamom bread. It was hot out of the oven to our door on Christmas morning. The aroma of the bread mixed with all the other scents of Christmas was a welcome addition to our morning. Rarely did the whole loaf of bread make it to the breakfast table as we munched and munched some more on it's warm goodness dolloped with butter. Grandma delighted in our devouring of each and every piece.

Best Pots and Pans

These are the Best Pots and Pans to replace all of your non-stick cookware because instead of non-stick materials (which have been found to be unhealthy) this set uses a 'Stainless Steel' technology. We have overlooked how easy stainless steel is to clean and how long lasting it is. Also, it has a way of distributing heat much better than counterparts. In other words... you can cook at lower temperature (the heat is well distributed) and lower heat means better cooking with less sticking.

A very small amount ( a few drops) of water or olive (or cooking spray) will keep the surface coated so you will not have food sticking on to the pan. Also the clean up is always easy. If something sticks (from overheating or problematic foods such as cheese and eggs) then you can easily wash the pan (see washing videos on this page).

You will be glad you found a good alternative to non-stick and your pots and pans will last a lifetime.

There is definitely something that sets Nathan's hot dogs apart from the standard supermarket hot dog. I'm hedging a bet it is Nathan's special spices and the years of knowledge behind making these best ever hot dogs. Continued success, since opening their Coney Island stand in 1916, says even more about their brand.

The recipe for these Chocolate Crackles is really delicious anytime, although during the holidays they are wonderful to make and give as a gift or to have on hand when guests pop in for a holiday visit. These cookies are so festive looking too because of the dusting of powdered sugar.

As a sweet treat these chocolate cookies are actually similar to a brownie. Chocolaty and crispy on the outside, when you bite into the cookie it is moist, gooey and chocolaty chewy on the inside. Absolutely hard as heck to just eat one too!

Go ahead and bake up a batch or three of these Chocolate Crackle Cookies today...I'm convinced they will become one of your favorite cookie recipes too!

Call this handy kitchen tool to duty in a flash. Grab the slice, dice, grate or julienne plate, pop it into place and you are good to go! Firm tomatoes to hard potatoes are easily processed, with little hand power or fuss.

For my kitchen, easy to grab accessories...that work...are priceless! This Mandolin Multi-Slicer has far out-lived its value. Works for me time and time again. At a price that is pleasing to today's pocketbook, I personally recommend that you try this best ever Mandolin Multi-Slicer in your home kitchen!

Love You Forever

At the Scholastic Book Sale in our little grade school I happened upon this book. As I read it, standing right there in the middle of the aisle, tears welled up in my eyes. Love You Forever is one powerful little book about the special bond between mother and son. On this day I purchased our first copy, plus a few other's that I gave to family and friend's.

On a side note: I have to admit the part in the book where the mom climbs the ladder to her adult son's room was a little weird. Both of my boy's would think I'd really gone off the deep end if I attempted this. :-)

How wonderful to stumble upon an artist and then find that artist is just like you imagined them through their art and words. That was me when I met Rodney White virtually through the Internet - I fell in deep like right away! What he creates is awesome and how he sees the world around him shows with what he creates!

White's eye hones into the vintage - the pieces that still speak to us today! The art is inspiring, fun and very memorable!

My guy, that I love to this moment and forever, captured me because he was unpretentious and unlike any other man that I had ever met.

He did not have me at 'hello', nor did he Flamenco dance or even have a million bucks. It was that tad bit of shyness, as well as being a real looker that drew me in! Ooh and that military uniform just made me swoon! The rest...not to sound too cliche...is history!

I believe our meeting was not by chance...it was fate! Here are the reasons why I stay and love him to this day!

Food, Inc - Take Control Over Your Food

A girls night out for a movie - Food, Inc and dinner changed my outlook on food forever! In fact when I got home that night sleep did not come easy. Instead of counting sheep I was mentally going through my kitchen pantry - not a horrible assessment, although I knew there were going to be a few things on the chopping block when I got up in the morning! And my husband did not even miss em'! :)

The three most significant things that I took away from watching Food, Inc. are:

~ Cases of Diabetes II in children is escalating and over the next ten years or more one in three children will have the disease. Type II Diabetes is not a childhood disease, it's been an adult disease. Pretty scary, huh?

~ Cows are NOT supposed to eat corn...they are supposed to eat grass. Have you seen the labels in the store that proudly say: Corn Fed Beef? Well, they have sold us on the idea that's how it is supposed to be!

~ The horrible conditions that "our meat" live in is disgusting! The slaughtering practices are even worse. Not only are the animals abused, so are the worker's.

Please watch Food, Inc and give me your take on the movie. If you have already seen the movie I'd love to hear your feedback! Have You Looked In Your Kitchen Pantry Lately?

Gales Creek Tavern is the hot spot in the sleepy little town of Gales Creek, OR. Most nights it's a quiet little hang out where you can meet up with neighbors for a icy cold glass of beer and a slice of their winning pizza. Other nights it can get totally hoppin'...it just depends on the event and whether or not you're ready to party!

Built back around the 1940's as a Ford repair shop, half was the garage and the other was the local tavern where patrons could count on a beer and get their Ford repaired all at the same time. While the repair shop does not exist anymore, the tavern still remains and is going strong.

How-To Poach An Egg

Toss me an egg baby, I'm hankerin' for a poach!

From as early as I can remember my mom and grandma's served poached eggs as regular morning fare. Always gently laid atop a buttery English muffin half, the other buttery half laden with orange marmalade. As my palate has progressed I've tried poached eggs many different ways, even making up my good...and not so good concoctions. My fave to date is having a poached egg versus a fried on my Loco Moco (see the idea and link below).

From start to finish, with a few tips, tricks, and photos in between, I'm stepping you through the how-to of making your perfect poached egg. Happy eating to you and yours!

Postscript - Thank you to my husband for doing double duty - helping me take photos and tending to the barbecue AND for setting up my 'mock' studio setting on the kitchen counter. I am one lucky woman!

Homemade Molasses Cookies

Triple mmm! As an all-time family fave cookie recipe - my tattered, molasses drippin's card is proof - these cookies are wonderful baked anytime of year. While these delectable cookies are baking in the oven your house will be filled with the scents of the spices and molasses.

Now as molasses cookies go I prefer mine chewy, almost undone in the middle! You, on the other hand, may like a cookie that is extra crispy, you know the kind that is best dipped in milk, tea, coffee or hot cocoa...well just bake these molasses cookies a tad bit longer and you'll have a crispier cookie similar to a ginger snap. Either way you choose to bake these cookies the thing is you just gotta try this recipe, I know, without a doubt, you'll love every bite.

It's a must to share (printable recipe below) - that is just the right thing to do - so bake up plenty to send off to your Sargent in the army, your Aunt Bess in Topeka, and your lovely neighbor (this is how they stay a lovely neighbor by the way :)!

I had not really thought too much about it until I started seeing beautiful photos and several recipes online and in magazines that highlighted all kinds of recipes using pumpkins! Not only are pumpkins perfect for baking in, they are packed with lots of nutritional value, namely beta carotene.

Today I am sharing recipes I have discovered online for pumpkin fondue so that you and I can try this at home. It's not an experiment either, because baking fondue in pumpkins has been done and with great success I might add. Hopefully I will get one of these pumpkins baked up within the next few weeks so that I can add some of my own photos on here...it is at the top of my to-do list!

Ruth's recipe for oatmeal cake comes directly from her files - mom and Ruth often shared their recipes with each other. I'm so pleased to now have this cake recipe in my files, especially happy to be sharing it with you too!

Ruth is a lady I'll never forget. She lived across the street from us with her family in San Diego, California. Our families celebrated together, played together and truly enjoyed our friendship over the years - even long after we'd moved away. Ruth has passed away, however I'll forever remember her through our years of friendship and whenever I bake her oatmeal cake.

Cooking for Geeks Cookbook

Ya know I've never considered myself a geek, I mean how the heck would I know the circumference of a parallelogram nor do I own anything even faintly 'Star Warrish', so just by title alone, Cooking for Geeks did not necessarily call to my inner foodie. Surprise, surprise...after browsing through the various chapters, trying a couple of recipes and in general, appreciating the writing throughout, I'm now proud to say, "I am a geek!" A cooking geek that is.

On this page you are going to discover my part of a group collaboration to give feedback about Cooking for Geeks. Besides where to find author Jeff Potter and more info about the cookbook, this page has my take on chapters 6, 7 and the closing chapters of the cookbook. It's not a technical overview, it's a view from here (from my kitchen) discussion about the things interesting to me that I discovered in this cookbook. Read on, grab a copy for yourself and or as a gift.

Eat, drink, cook, be merry...and toss in some molecular gastronomy while you are at it!!

Self Improvement - A Guide

Boosting one's self on the unfortunate plight of other's is not the way to enhance your life. Case in point: celebrity downfalls, a neighbor's bankruptcy, a co-worker being 'called' to the bosses office, or your sibling getting grounded. Instead, it should be a call to action for you to offer empathy, understanding, a listening ear! Agreement abounds that life is not easy, especially if you are choosing to be open-minded, gracious, positive...not forgetting to mention the fortitude needed to withstand outside or even internal influences. Realizing that making a difference lies within us, and then taking the steps to self-improvement enriches your life...becomes your story!

Need some direction? Hope these ideas spur you on. We are in this thing called life together!

Buba Recommeded - Kyjen Puzzle Toys for Dogs

Oh woe is me...I'd sure like to zap our now big dog Buba back to a tiny puppy because he so loved cuddlin' in my lap, always insisted upon delivering his kisses all over my face. It's not to be...darn it! There sure is something especially unique about a puppy though...don't ya agree?

His antics as a puppy have stayed though. We knew within a few days of having him join our family that he was quite unique and really quizzical.. We'd roll a ball back and forth, he'd watch, it wasn't until it curved off the path to roll under the couch or another piece of furniture that he'd lurch forward to start to play. He wanted to find the "lost toy".

Our best ever purchase was the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirrel Puzzle Toy. Oh my, did Buba go nuts...lol, no pun intended :) Even after hundreds of hours of play that darn toy kept it's shape. There were a few tattered edges, a squirrel or two did not squeak anymore...all in all his fave puzzle toy far outlasted the price we paid.

My discovery of more Kyjen Puzzle Toys for Dogs had me smilin', remembering when Buba would be romping around the house having fun with his dog toy. The squirrel puzzle fit his personality perfectly, hope you discover one for your doggie too!

Sitting, stunned in front of the television watching the news about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan I felt so helpless. What could I do to make a difference?

Homemade Condiments Video Showcase

Make your own homemade condiments, you won't want to buy the bottled stuff that lines the grocery store isles once you do. As a healthier alternative making your own homemade condiments allows you to tweak the recipes to your taste buds. Tone down seasoning that may be too hot or kick it up a notch if hot is what you enjoy. A bonus of making homemade condiments is knowing what is in the recipe. Who wants propyl gallate or butylated hydroxyanisole in their food? I know I don't. Make your homemade condiments in small batches for optimal freshness - have the kids or your significant other make the next batch - it can be lots of fun and very satisfying.
