He's a modern day hero. He's every shoddy contractor's worst nightmare. He's the star of Holmes on Homes. He's Mike Holmes. Once a week we get to watch Mike Holmes rescue home owners from the clutches of despair and often times, financial ruin. Mike apprenticed under his dad who frequently told Mike "If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time" and has continued to use this as his motto. Mike is a craftsman with integrity, who knows the importance of resourcefulness and craftsmanship. “I’ve been fixing a lot of sloppy, lazy and dangerous work for the past two decades” says Holmes. “I think it’s time to expose the work of these so-called contractors and help some homeowners make informed decisions. I want to take the word ‘minimum’ out of the construction industry and stop the slow death of craftsmanship”. In 2006 the Holmes Foundation was launched by Mike Holmes. The foundations main goals are to assist Canadians who need help or resources to get their homes and lives back after botched renovations; and to support the training of youth in the skilled trades, through apprenticeships, scholarships and bursaries. You are not the only one affected. Your family, friends and even co-workers are affected by the changes in your moods.

Gheorghe Zamfir (born April 6, 1941, in Gaesti, Romania) is a Romanian musician, who is a virtuoso of the pan flute. Originally wanting to become an accordionist, at the age of 14 he began his pan flute studies and was initially self-taught. He continued his education at the Bucharest Academy of Music where he was a student of Fanica Luca at the Conservatory of Bucharest (1968). He came to the public eye when he was "discovered" by Swiss ethnomusicologist Marcel Cellier who extensively researched Romanian folk music in the 1960s. He expanded the traditional Romanian-style pan flute ("nai") of 20 pipes to 22, 25, 28 and 30 pipes to increase its range, obtaining as many as nine tones from each pipe by changing the embouchure.

Always feeling under the weather? Always not in the mood to be around others and have a good time? Always feeling tired and worn out? If you have been suffering from prolonged sadness for quite some time now, you may be suffering bouts of depression. Recognizing these prolonged symptoms is the first step in dealing with depression. The second step is to visit your doctor and get yourself diagnosed. Your doctor may refer you to a psychiatrist who can further diagnose why you are feeling this way. Depression or prolonged sadness is actually quite common in the United States, around 9.5 percent of the American population actually suffer from this illness.
Save Money with Reconditioned Computers

If you're looking for a great computer at budget pricing, consider a reconditioned computer.

Refurbished computers are just as good as new computers but they are a lot less expensive. They have been returned by the original purchaser for whatever reason and the company tests the PC and replaces any components that are not up to specification.

It is recommended to purchase an extended warranty. Usually around $50 - $70 for a 1 year replacement warranty.

Classic Alternative Rock

Alternative rock (also called alternative music or simply alternative; known primarily in the UK as indie) is a genre of rock music that emerged in the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s. The term "alternative" was coined in the 1980s to describe punk rock-inspired bands on independent record labels that did not fit into the mainstream genres of the time. As a musical genre, alternative rock consists of various subgenres that have emerged from the independent music scene since the 1980s, such as Grunge, Britpop, Gothic Rock, and Indie Pop. These genres are unified by their collective debt to the style and/or ethos of punk, which laid the groundwork for alternative music in the 1970s. Though the genre is considered to be rock, some of its subgenres are influenced by folk music, reggae, electronic music and jazz among other genres. While a few artists like R.E.M. and The Cure achieved commercial success and mainstream critical recognition, many alternative rock artists during the 1980s were cult acts that recorded on independent labels and received their exposure through college radio airplay and word-of-mouth. With the breakthrough of Nirvana and the popularity of the grunge and Britpop movements in the early 1990s, alternative rock entered the musical mainstream and many alternative bands became commercially successful.
