Orphan Works Act of 2008

The government is trying to pass legislation that requires all artists to register their creations for a fee. If they are not registered, they would become "Orphaned Works" meaning that they have NO copyright and become public domain - so potentially anyone can sell or distribute the images without the creating artist receiving any monetary remuneration. This effects all of us.

Collage

Collage used to mean lots of cutting and pasting, and of course it still is. Carefully attaching layers of papers, ephemera, and other collected items. But now it is also done digitally. There are as many techniques in collage as there are the artists and craftspeople that create this form of art. I'd like to share some tips and ideas I've found.
