Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle was born March 9, 1969 to a Puerto Rican mother and an Irish-American father in San Francisco. Kimberly and her brother were raised by a single father after she turned 10 when her mother died of leukemia. Guilfoyle graduated from the University of California, Davis and the University Of San Francisco School Of Law. She worked her entire way through school, including a brief stint as a lingerie model. She later went on to become an assistant district attorney in San Francisco where she received national attention in 2001 for successfully prosecuting two defendants whose two dogs had mauled a woman to death. Later that same year, she married a local city supervisor from a prominent family named Gavin Newsom. He was later elected mayor in 2003. They divorced in March of 2006. In January 2004, Kimberly became a co-host on the Court TV program "Both Sides". She also served as legal analyst on ABC's "Good Morning America" and CNN's "Larry King Live" and "Anderson Cooper 360". Kimberly joined FOX News Channel in January of 2006 as a host on a one hour long crime based program called "The Line Up". It airs Saturdays and Sundays from 9-10 PM EST. The show covers major breaking news and focuses on legal affairs and issues of the day. It is the highest rated cable show of its time slot. Kimberly also serves as a legal analyst for FOX News. Have you heard about the size of the wolves in Idaho? Rumor has it that they are huge. The story is that the wolf population in Idaho was decimated. The plan was to introduce Canadian Timber wolves to the state with the goal of a population of 100 wolves in the state. Guess what, the wolves flourished. It is estimated that there are between 800 and 2000 wolves in Idaho today. The thing is, the Canadian wolves usually get up to about 140 pounds. The wolves in Idaho are getting up to 180 wolves and maybe even heavier. The Idaho wolves are also reported to hunt in packs of up to 20 wolves. The series Firefly premiered on the Fox network and was written and directed by Joss Whedon who is the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The TV series is based on the life of Mal Reynolds five hundred years in the future. In the series, Mal was on the losing side of the Unification Wars. He narrowly escaped with little else except this trusted ship, the Firefly class freighter, Serenity. Mal Reynolds mission in life after the war is to assemble a crew and continue working on his ship. Firefly was cancelled after only eleven of its 14 episodes aired. However, once the series hit DVD, it took on a life of its own. Firefly was picked up on the SCI-FI Channel and was aired in the specific order that Joss Whedon designated. The movie Serenity is set for 2 months after the last episode of Firefly. The movie is a stand alone movie in itself. Position: LB Height: 6' 3'' Weight: 241 Born: 2/4/1959, in Williamsburg, VA, USA High School: Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA) College: University of North Carolina Let me start by saying that I believe that hands down, Lawrence Taylor, or LT, is one of the best defensive football players to every play the game. Growing up playing defensive end I used to try and emulate his play. Rarely could a defensive player take over and change the course of a game like the way LT could. Lawrence Taylor was a first round draft pick by the New York Giants and was the second player taken in the 1981 draft after being an All-American at North Carolina. In his rookie season he recorded 133 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 8 passes defense, two forced fumbles, a fumble recover and an interception. Talk about starting out with a bang. Taylor was a force to be reckoned with. His pass rush, coverage and tackling at the linebacker position made offenses second guess every play to be sure that he was accounted for. LT's pass rushing skills were unparalleled. He had the speed to blow past a blocker, or the power to muscle his way right through them. His play lead to the Giants having a 10 season winning streak while making the playoffs six times and winning the Super Bowl twice. LT racked up 132.5 quarterback sacks and that is not including the 9.5 sacks recorded in 1981 as the sack did not become an official statistic until 1982. He also recorded 1,088 tackles, 33 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, and 9 interceptions over the course of his career. He was also selected to play in 10 Pro Bowls and was named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary All-Time Team.

During World War II, women’s work in factories was essential for the survival of America due to the shortage of manpower from so many men off fighting the war. The women were recruited with images of strong women like that of Rosie the Riveter. This propaganda was disseminated through print, film and radio. The name Rosie the Riveter was given to the woman depicted on most of the propaganda posters. These ads helped to recruit women who previously worked in fields, secretarial positions, domestic jobs and lower paying industrial positions were eager to test themselves on these jobs that were previously only held by men. In spite of how hard these women worked and what a good job they did, they were dismissed after the war ended. Bruce Lee (Lee Jun Fan), was born in San Fransisco in November 1940 the son of a famous Chinese opera singer. Bruce moved to Hong Kong when he soon became a child star in the growing Eastern film industry. His first film was called The birth of Mankind, his last film which was uncompleted at the time of his death in 1973 was called Game of Death. Bruce was a loner and was constantly getting himself into fights, with this in mind he looked towards Kung Fu as a way of disciplining himself. The famous Yip Man taught Bruce his basic skills, but it was not long before he was mastering the master. Yip Man was acknowledged to be one of the greatest authorities on the subject of Wing Chun a branch of the Chinese Martial Arts. Bruce mastered this before progressing to his own style of Jeet Kune Do. At the age of 19 Bruce left Hong Kong to study for a degree in philosophy at the University of Washington in America. It was at this time that he took on a waiter's job and also began to teach some of his skills to students who would pay. Some of the Japanese schools in the Seattle area tried to force Bruce out, and there was many confrontations and duels fought for Bruce to remain. He met his wife Linda at the University he was studying. His Martial Arts school flourished and he soon graduated. He gained some small roles in Hollywood films - Marlowe- etc, and some major stars were begging to be students of the Little Dragon. James Coburn, Steve McQueen and Lee Marvin to name but a few. He regularly gave displays at exhibitions, and it was during one of these exhibitions that he was spotted by a producer and signed up to do The Green Hornet series. The series was quite successful in the States - but was a huge hit in Hong Kong. Bruce visited Hong Kong in 1968 and he was overwhelmed by the attention he received from the people he had left. He once said on a radio program if the price was right he would do a movie for the Chinese audiences. He returned to the States and completed some episodes of Longstreet. He began writing his book on Jeet Kune Do at roughly the same time. Back in Hong Kong producers were desperate to sign Bruce for a Martial Arts film, and it was Raymond Chow the head of Golden Harvest who produced The Big Boss. Water boarding is a practice that has been around for centuries. It was a popular interrogation method used during the Italian Inquisition of the 1500’s and was also a common practice in the Cambodian prisons during the brutal Khmer Rouge regime during the 1970’s. In November of 2005, the CIA had this technique approved as an enhanced interrogation technique, only to be used against high value terror suspects. Water boarding essentially makes a person feel like they are drowning. The way water boarding is currently done by the CIA involves strapping a person on an inverted board with their feet elevated. The person being interrogated has their arms and legs bound, and their face covered. A piece of cloth covers the nose and mouth or cellophane is used. The interrogator then pours water over the persons face. Depending on the technique, water may or may not enter the person’s mouth or nose, but regardless, an experience of drowning overwhelms the person being interrogated. The thinking is, if the person’s mind believes that he or she is drowning, then a gag reflux kicks in as if he or she was really drowning. With all of the current debate on water boarding, the CIA admits that they have only used the practice three times. One of the persons who was interrogated with this method was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who during the process confessed to his role in terrorist plots and also reported several ongoing plots that were foiled and potentially saved many lives. Water boarding has become a very controversial topic and has been labeled as torture by many human rights groups and a number of leading U.S. officials, including Senator John McCain. Others say that it is an effective interrogation method that should be used only under extreme circumstances when obtaining information from a reluctant prisoner is imperative.

The novel is set in the 1960';s in Oklahoma during a time when the two major socioeconomic classes for Ponyboy's peers were the wealthy Soc's and the Greasers. This book is my favorite coming of age book and I read it several times while growing up.; It deals with the changes and emotions one goes through during adolescence. Personal identity, heroism, peer pressure, innocence, family and belonging are all key issues that the characters of the Outsiders experience in this novel.

Pope John Paul II, formerly known as Karol Wojtyla, became Pope on October 16, 1978. He was the first Pope who was not an Italian in 455 years. Karol Wojtyla was born in Poland and was raised during a period of national freedom. This freedom ended, first to the Nazi occupation and followed by Communist rule. Wojtyla’s family had fled Poland during World War II, but the Russian invasion inspired him to return home. He studied in secret to avoid deportation as he worked as a laborer. Karol Wojtyla was ordained in 1946. Over the next few years he wrote Christian texts, continued his studies and taught Catholicism as he worked towards religious freedom. His hard work led to him becoming a professor in Lublin. Soon after he became auxili9ary bishop and then in 1963, he was made archbishop of Krakow. Just four years later he was made a cardinal. During his time as a cardinal, he worked endlessly to gain concessions from the communist leadership. Many were surprised when he was selected to be the next Pope. John Paul II is highly praised for his attempt at building a bridge between Christians and Jews, and Muslims. He traveled often as this was his main tool. He would speak to massive crowds which made it possible for Mehmet Ali Agca to attempt an assassination on Pope John Paul II. While he was seriously injured, this did not stop the Pope and even led to non-Catholics admiring his strength and his willingness to speak out against governments while he spoke from their country. In John Paul’s later years, he was affected by several health problems ranging from cancer to his ongoing battle against Parkinson’s disease. However, these health problems could hardly slow him down. In March of 2000, the Pope made one of his most famous trips. He went to Jerusalem to meet with both Jewish and Muslim leaders in an attempt to bring peace and understanding to the region. Sadly, in early 2005, the Popes health started to decline once again. After a long fight, John Paul passed in the Vatican on April 2nd, 2005 at the age of 84.

The lymphatic system is made up of a network of bean shaped lymph nodes that are connected to vessels. These lymph nodes act as a filter, removing foreign organisms and abnormal cells. Lymph nodes make a whitish/yellow fluid which contains white blood cells, proteins and some red blood cells. In the lymph nodes, there are lymphocytes (white blood cells) that go after bacteria and cells that do not belong. Introducing my superhero... Pat Tillman (1976-2004) Pat Tillman was always an excellent athlete and leader. He led his high school to the Central Coast Division I Football Championship. Later, he went on to Arizona State University on a football scholarship. At ASU, Tillman was not just a stand out football player, he was also an excellent student. He helped his team go undefeated and make it to the 1997 Rose Bowl. He was the ASU most valuable player in 1997 and as a student he won the Clyde B. Smith Academic Award in both 1996 and 1997, the Sporting News Honda Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1997, and he was named the 1998 Sun Angel Student Athlete of The Year. Tillman went on to play in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals. He was a stand out in the NFL and earned a handsome salary. But the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 changed everything for Tillman. He felt so passionately about defending his country after the attack that he decided to leave his NFL career on hold to join the U.S. Army with his younger brother Kevin. Before leaving for the military, Tillman married his high school sweetheart, Marie. The Tillman brothers became Army Rangers and were assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis, Washington. Later, Pat Tillman went to Iraq for Operation Iraq Freedom and then later went on to Afghanistan to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom. Tillman was killed defending what he believed in on April 22, 2004. Originally, there were discrepancies in the details of Tillmans death.It was later realized that Tillman tragically died as a result of friendly fire. Tillman was posthumously awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart and both Arizona State University and the Arizona Cardinals retired his jersey number. I respect Pat Tillman and feel that he is an excellent role model. Tillman worked hard in school and on the field, always striving to get better and never being satisfied with just getting by. But what I really respect about Tillman is that he walks the walk. He felt so strongly about defending his country that he left a lucrative career and made the ultimate sacrifice in defending freedom.

The city of Kalamazoo, Mi. was originally named by the Native Americans although its exact origin hasn't been pinpointed. Some say it means "the mirage of reflecting river," while others say it means bubbling or boiling water. Such an interesting name has inspired many poets, authors and songwriters to add Kalamazoo into their As Kalamazoo grew over the years, so did the variety of social and cultural activities. The areas first newspaper was the Kalamazoo Gazette which is one of the state's oldest. Many other papers were published here in the early years, including the Kalamazoo Telegraph (1844-1916). Kalamazoo county's educational facilities have always been a source of pride for residents. The first public high school was built in 1859 and in April 1833, the territorial governor signed legislation authorizing a charter for the Michigan and Huron Institute. Its first building was erected in 1836 on Cedar Street between Park and Westnedge and over the years, the Institute evolved into the well-respected Kalamazoo College. Today, Kalamazoo has four institutions of higher learning, Kalamazoo College, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Davenport University. There are also branches of other colleges springing up in the Kalamazoo area too.

Obi Wan Kenobi is one of the most significant Jedi Knights of the Star Wars series. He started as a Padawan and was apprenticed by the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. On a mission Obi Wan and Qui-Gon are the Jedi who discovered and freed the slave boy Anakin Skywalker. After Qui-Gon's demise to the hands of Darth Maul, Obi Wan took young Anakin to be his Padawan apprentice. Obi Wan continued to train young Anakin over the next 10 years. Obi Wan began to be concerned by Anakins behavior. It was during this time that Anakin began to be lured into the dark side. Anakin decision to follow the dark side led to the battle on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi Wan on the lava planet. After a fierce battle, Anakin was defeated and apparently left to burn in the lava. Just before death, he was rescued by the Sith Lord. Some years later, Obi Wan trained Luke Skywalker and sent him to Yoda to complete his training. Obi Wan sacrificed his life in a battle vs. Darth Vader to buy time so that Luke and his crew could escape trouble. From this time forward, Obi Wan's spirit continued to guide Luke.

The main religions are Buddhist 89%, Christian 4% (Baptist 3%, Roman Catholic 1%), Muslim 4%, animist 1%, other 2%. The current government is the Military Junta. There was a Constitution that was written on January 3, 1974 but has been suspended since 1988 when the Junta took power. There have been no elections since 1980 as the military leaders rule with a heavy hand. Human rights violations have become a commonplace in Burma and the internal displacement of ethnic minorities is prevalent. There has been over a million Burmese, most of whom are ethnic minorities that have fled Burma for economic and political reasons to Bangladesh, India, China, Malaysia and Thailand for work and for political asylum. Today, over 150,000 refugees live in camps and another 30,000 live in refugee camps in Bangladesh.

Masaru Emoto was born in Yokohama, Japan in July of 1943. He graduated from the Yokohama Municipal University with a degree in International Relations. In 1992, Emoto received his Doctorate in Alternative Medicine from the Open International University. Later, he was introduced to the idea of micro cluster water and magnetic resonance analysis technology. This is how Emoto discovered many differences in the crystalline structure of water collected from different water sources from around the planet. Emoto then freezes the water and photographs the crystals. Emoto noticed the difference in the symmetry and the beauty of different crystals photographed from different sources. He found that water from clean mountain streams formed fantastic geometric designs. Water crystals from polluted or contaminated sources were asymmetrical and distorted. Emoto later conducted experimented with before and after photos of water crystals from different sources. The water crystals would change dramatically in the before and after photos. Such sayings as love and gratitude posted on a water bottle over night could take an average looking crystal and turn it into a perfect, beautiful crystal overnight. Emoto found similar results from prayer and music. Also, there were negative effects on crystals that were exposed to negative stimulus like microwaves, angry music and such messages as hate. These experiments bring about a powerful idea. If thoughts and positive stimulus can have these results on water and our bodies are composed of 60% water. Imagine what kind of results positive thoughts and messages can have on us.

Vietnam Vet, John Rambo is working as a snake catcher and river guide in Thailand, living a simple life, avoiding trouble. Life is quite for Rambo until one day when a Christian human rights group request his service in taking them up river into war torn Burma. John reluctantly accepts their request. The humanitarians are doing some good work in a poor village until Major Tints soldiers massacre the town and take the Christian group captive. Rambo learns of these events when he is asked to transport a group of mercenaries up river to free the captured Christian aid workers. From here on, you see Rambo doing what he does best, freeing the good guys and taking out the bad guys. Rambo 4 is a return to the classic action movies of the 1980's and 90's. The action is awesome, the battle scenes are realistic and graphic. If you are an action movie fan, or enjoyed any of the first three Rambo films, I believe that you will love Rambo 4.

Profits from Citgo fuel purchases go directly to the government of Hugo Chavez who vows to bring down the U.S. Government. Chavez has been quoted saying, "(The U.S.) is the most perverse empire in history: It talks about freedom while invading and destroying other nations ... The Empire is very powerful, but not infallible. This century we will bury the US Empire. The empire has to face the people of Venezuela and Latin America. It has failed in Iraq already." Chavez has done much to redistribute the wealth in Venezuela with his quasi-socialist/communist form of government. Chavez stated, "We must confront the privileged elite who have destroyed a large part of the world." Chavez is to the extreme left and denounces capitalism, he once said, "The left is back, and it's the only path we have to get out of the spot to which the right has sunken us, Socialism builds and capitalism destroys." Chavez is pushing for a full-scale Communist revolution in Latin America. One of his closest allies is Jesse Jackson's hero, Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Chavez also had close relations with Saddam Hussein before that brutal dictator's sudden departure from the seat of power in Iraq. With friends like Castro, the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Saddam, it is no wonder that the psychotic Chavez has delusions that he can topple the United States. Chavez also is currently working to form allies to help to counter the U.S. More than 30 countries from as far away as Indonesia have received some form of aid or preferential deals in an effort to "buy" support. It is estimated that a third of Citgo's profits come from sales to the U.S. Boycotting Citgo will make it much more difficult for Chavez to continue his dictatorship and may also help to lead to his removal from power. I am not suggesting that we boycott Citgo gas stations, just do not buy their fuel. Citgo gas stations are owned by Americans and none of the products in the store will go to Chavez, only the fuel profits. These store owners have contracts with Citgo fuel and we would like for them to offer a different brand of gasoline. Some encouraging news is that 7-11 has dropped the Citgo brand from their gas stations.

Dog the Bounty Hunter should be brought back to television. Let me start by saying this: In no way to I advocate using racial epithets. However, the circumstances that led to Dwayne "Dog" Chapman's show being canceled is completely unfair and unwarranted. Dog the Bounty Hunter was canceled after a private conversation with his son was obtained by the National Enquirer. In the conversation Dog uttered a racial slur while talking to his son in what he thought was a private dialogue between a father and a son. He was not using the term at anyone directly; he just said the word itself. Who among us has not had a private conversation that we may not be proud of and that we could get in trouble at a job over? I think that we all have. But the private talk between the Dog and his son was just that, a PRIVATE conversation. After the tape was released, Chapman made a heartfelt apology to the American public and I believe that he truly meant what he said. I believe that he handled the situation like a man. He took responsibility for what he said, and he apologized from the bottom of his heart. The Dog does a lot of good work and sets a great example on turning your life around and second chances. His show being taken off of the air is not making society any better; it is only taking away a man and his message of second chances and forgiveness.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a motor neuron disease that was first described in 1869 by the French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot. ALS is a degenerative neuro-disease that typically attacks both the lower and upper motor neurons and interferes with the brains messages to the muscles. It causes degeneration throughout the spinal cord and the brain. Essentially, ALS makes you lose control of your voluntary muscles. Early symptoms include a painless weakening of a hand, foot, arm, leg and speech, swallowing or walking difficulty. It is still not completely understood what causes ALS. Right now, there is only one known cause of ALS. That cause is a mutation of a specific gene, the SOD1 gene and this mutation only account for 1 or 2 percent of all ALS cases, or 20% of the familial or inherited cases. This mutated gene makes a defective protein that is toxic to motor nerve cells. Familial ALS makes up for 5-10% off of the cases. The remaining cases come on spontaneously and without explanation which means that these random attacks on otherwise healthy adults could happen to anyone, anytime.

Vanguard Saga of Heroes is the next generation of MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role-playing game) from Sigil Games Online. The game was released on January 30, 2007, but a lucky few had early access by pre-ordering and were able to start on January 26. Vanguard SOH was designed by some of the same creators of the original EverQuest. To me, Vanguard offers the best of games like EverQuest and World of Warcraft, crossed with the best of Star Wars Galaxies in that there is great combat, quests, crafting and community. The game play has something for everyone with three primary areas which are adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy. Each of these areas can be played independently of each other and at the same time complement each other for the overall game play. There is also a smaller section of game play and that is harvesting which it tied into adventuring. The setting for the fantasy game Vanguard takes place on a world called Telon and is inhabited by several races of creatures that you can choose from for your character. These races include, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Goblin, Half Elf, Halfling, High Elf, Kojani Human, Kurashasha, Lesser Giant, Mordebi Human, Orc, Qualianthari Human, Raki, Thestran Human, Varanjar, Varanthari, Vulmane, and Wood Elf. This is a fun game that can be very addicting. The combat makes for fun group questing, the crafting is both challenging and rewarding and the diplomacy is great for those who enjoy NPC dialogue.

Sequoia Bear, One Crazy Girl

Sequoia is my girl. She is a great dog who has a tendency of being a little bit naughty. Sequoia is 1/2 Alaskan Malamute, 1/4 St. Bernard and 1/4 German Shepard. A vet told me that those are 4 of the most destructive dog breeds and I think he is right. Sequoia is getting older now so she is not quite the terror that she used to be. When I first bought my home she always wanted to escape when I was at work. She would open shut windows and break out the screen, she would find a way to open locked doors, and she destroyed a crate. Finally I built her a 6 foot fence but she learned how to jump that too. I finally found that I had to tie her to a pole and she then had room to go into the back yard and she can go into the garage where she has a bed for when it is raining or she wants shade. She used to sneak out a lot. One time she came home with an entire deer leg. Now when she gets out it is to visit her friend Xander down the street. She may be a handful but I love my dog Sequoia.

Hereditary Hemochromatosis is an inherited disease which causes the body to absorb and store too much iron. This excess iron is stored throughout the body, but particularly in the liver, skin and pancreas. When this iron is stored, the iron damages these organs and tissues. HH is caused by mutations found in the HFE gene. This genes responsibility is to control the iron absorption from the diet. When a person inherits the defective gene from both parents, he or she will develop Hereditary Hemochromatosis. If a person in inherits the defective genre from one parent and not the other, this person is a considered a HH carrier. HH carriers do have a slight increase in their absorption of iron. Most people who have HH have no symptoms of the disorder until they reach middle age. This is because the body only absorbs a small amount more then what it needs every day. This takes time to build up and cause symptoms. Some of the most common symptoms of HH are bronzing or a grey appearance in the skin. The symptoms are painful joints, diabetes, liver disorders and a weakened cardiovascular system. Other signs of Hereditary Hemochromatosis include diminished sex drive, early menopause, thyroid and adrenal disorders and fatigue. HH often goes undiagnosed for years because the blood tests are not performed. There are four tests which should be performed for diagnosing the disease. The Serum Ferritin test will measure the level of iron stored in the liver. The Liver Biopsy will take a liver sample from a needle for testing. The Transferrin Saturation Test measures the amount of iron that is bound to protein carried in the blood. The best test is Molecular Genetic Testing. The DNA testing for the Mutated HFE genes is now possible. This test too is not 100% accurate as it is possible for a mutant genre to produce a false negative test result. The best treatment for HH is a phlebotomy, giving blood. This blood is not given to the Red Cross as it is considered too high in iron. Often blood is taken once or twice a week for an amount of time to lower the iron levels. Once the iron levels are at a normal level, it is necessary to remove a pint of blood every month to four months. Ferritin testing will let your doctor know how often blood should be taken. Some practices to implement to protect yourself if you have HH is to be sure to not take iron supplements, not even a multivitamin with a little iron in it. It is often recommended to avoid vitamin C supplements as C increases the absorption of iron. Eating red meat should be avoided as red meat is high in iron. Limit your alcohol consumption as alcohol and high iron levels damages the liver at an increased rate. If you are not sure how much alcohol you can consume consult your doctor. Everyone who a relative who has HH should be tested to for the disorder. If you are tested negative, you still should be tested every few years as the condition often takes time to show up on a test. Early diagnosing and treatment are critical for the long term health of a person with HH. If you are diagnosed before liver damage or diabetes, you should have a normal life expectancy.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that brings on a chronic inflammatory condition that affects many of the body’s organs. Lupus occurs when the immune system makes antibodies to respond to the virus that then attack the body’s own organs and tissues. This creates an inflammatory response in the skin, blood vessels, joints, and other tissues and organs. There are two different kind of lupus. One is Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the second is discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE). SLE affects many different parts of the body and the severity can range anywhere from mild to life threatening. The first symptoms you experience with SLE are like that of arthritis. The symptoms are swelling and pain in the fingers and joints. Sometimes, the disease comes on suddenly with sever fever. Another common symptom is a red rash on the cheeks; the rash may also appear elsewhere on the body. Other typical symptoms are hair loss, loss of appetite, nausea, blood in urine, ulcers, vomiting and weight loss. Inflammation of the kidneys can also be a symptom. DLE is a less serious form of the disease that typically only affects the skin. A butterfly rash will appear over the nose and cheeks. There may also be cuts or lesions elsewhere on the body. These symptoms can last for years.

I read it while on vacation sitting at the beach and by a campfire on Dauphin Island, Alabama. This book has it all, heroes and villains, good and evil, love and hate. It takes place in a time when the railroads were reaching the final stages in reachin across American to make transportation quick and easy. The Wrecker is a fun and exciting read that had me turning page after page not wanting to put the book down.
