The seven-part Harry Potter series of fantasy novels was written by English author J. K. Rowling about an adolescent boy wizard named Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The story is mostly set at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school for young wizards and witches, and focuses on Harry Potter's fight against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents as part of his plan to take over the wizarding world. Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States) in 1997, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide, spawning films, video games and merchandise. As of April 2007, the first six books in the seven book series have sold more than 325 million copies and have been translated into more than 64 languages. The seventh and last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was released on 21 July 2007. Publishers announced a record-breaking 12 million copies for the first print run in the U.S. alone. The success of the novels has made Rowling the highest-earning novelist in history. Watson, Julie and Kellner, Tomas. "J.K. Rowling And The Billion-Dollar Empire". Forbes.com, 26 February 2004. Accessed 19 March 2006. English language versions of the books are published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia and Raincoast Books in Canada. They take care of order processing, collecting the money, and shipping the product to the customer. But building an online storefront or adding e-commerce capabilities to an existing Web site can be a daunting proposition if you're an entrepreneur or a small business owner without programming skills or access to software developers. This is where Associate-O-Matic steps in. In 2003, developer and entrepreneur Justin Mecham starting tinkering with Amazon Web Services in order to develop a couple of online stores, TVmojo.com and WirelessMojo.com. The code he wrote while creating these stores led him to build a whole new small business focused on helping Amazon Associates build custom stores for their Web sites and blogs without having to do any programming themselves. Mecham launched his store-building business and application, Associate-O-Matic, in 2004. The application and the Amazon Web Services upon which it is built allow Amazon Associates to install and set up an online store in just a few minutes. They can tap into over 150 customizable settings that let them control the look, feel and e-commerce capabilities of their stores.
Digital Filmmaking - Tips and Tricks

Filmmaking is both a technical and a creative process. While it is easy to be creative, the technical demands of a film that looks good on the silver screen is enormous, and celluloid just about fulfils that. But now, with rising film costs - including raw stock and processing, 35mm filmmaking is expensive today as never before. But I believe that the future belongs to digital filmmaking. It is in some cases, a thousand time cheaper option compared to film. Though Digital technology wil not be able to match the celluloid resolution for quite some time, the cost advantage will always beckon the low budget filmmaker. And as technologies like 24P and HD progress further, we can hope of a cheaper and a more digized filmmaking future. The enormous money thus saved could be used for the upliftment of humanity :-) .

LASIK is the acronym for Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, a type of refractive laser eye surgery performed by ophthalmologists for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. he procedure is generally preferred to photorefractive keratectomy, PRK, (also called ASA, Advanced Surface Ablation) because it requires less time for the patient's recovery, and the patient feels less pain, overall. (However, there are instances where PRK/ASA is medically indicated as a better alternative to LASIK). Many patients choose LASIK as an alternative to wearing corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses.

The Rise of Antichrist and World War 3 - Prophecies by Nostradamus; In Christian eschatology and Islam, the Antichrist, Anti-christ or Dajjal (literally: anti, opposite; christ, messiah) has come to mean a person, image of a person, or other entity that is the embodiment of evil and utterly opposed to truth, according to Christianity, while convincingly disguised as wholly good and a bringer of truth. Identity of the Antichrist According to the book of Revelation, a discerning person can identify the Antichrist by the number of the beast, specifically, 666 (or 616 in some minority texts). The Hebrew numerology called Gematria appears to be the most likely approach for calculating the numeric value of a name, although other numerology schemes are used in attempts to confirm the identity of the Antichrist.

J.K. Rowling

JK Rowling AKA Joanne Rowling

Born: 31-Jul-1965
Birthplace: Chipping Sodbury, Gloucester, England

Gender: Female
Religion: Anglican/Episcopalian
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Author

Nationality: England
Executive summary: Author of Harry Potter series

Harry Potter first popped into Joanne Rowling's head during a long, boring train trip. What if, she wondered, a child rode a train that took him away from the confines of the boring adult world, to a place where he had power, both literally and metaphorically? By the time the train arrived at Rowling's destination, she had outlined several books of Harry Potter's adventures.

Rowling (which rhymes with bowling, not howling) was a writer long before she was a published author. As a first-grader, she says, she was working on a novel. As a teen, she's described herself as "shy, freckly, with no natural athletic ability, but a great love of literature".

As an adult, she wrote two novels, both unsold, while working for Amnesty International, and later working as "the worst secretary ever, very disorganized". Her first marriage didn't last long, and left Rowling to raise her daughter alone. She worked intermittently and went on the dole when she couldn't find work, still scribbling Harry Potter's adventures in cafés. The Scottish Arts Council was impressed, and gave her a grant to finish the book, but even then, the finished manuscript was rejected by several publishers.

Finally, in 1997, Rowling was offered the British equivalent of about $4,000 for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (retitled the Sorcerer's Stone for America). It was the publisher's idea to have her use a gender-neutral pen name, as they feared boys wouldn't read a book written by a woman, and it was Rowling's idea to add the 'K' -- she has no middle name -- in honor of her grandmother Kathleen.

Oil, as they now say is more precious than gold. It powers the fuel economy of the world to a great extent, and has been doing so for decades.

But now, there's a difference.

Oil prices are at a record high. Its a record high even among the previous highs reached by oil prices during the gulf war and other such events in oil producing countries. Its been above $100 per barrel for many months, and as of today, its hovering just below $150 per barrel!

Its pinching consumers all over the world, and especially the USA which is the biggest importer of foreign oil.

But what do we do? Switch to biofuel? Not that easy...Solar energy? Leaps to go in technology...Boycott oil? Move on to public transport? Yeah, if its feasible...

BUT, there's a way out of this oily mess for the average consumer...And you'll have to scroll down further on this lens to know about it!
