            <description>Ever wanted to just leave life behind, pack your family into a motorhome and drive away like you had no worries? Well thats what my husband, our two kids and I have done! We are the Mckay's, and we are inviting you to come along with us as we traverse our beautiful continent of Australia, starting by heading north from Brisbane, following the coast and then eventually circumnavigating our way back round the continent to Queensland. So watch this space for updates on the adventure of a lifetime, travel advice and general hints on campervan living! This is my first lens, and it kickstarts our journey as well as provides invaluable advice on travel in Australia for local and international travellers. In it I do my best to persuade you to come and visit our magnificent country, its something you wont regret. Australia has 7.69 million square kilometres to it, so theres a lot to explore out there! If you never make it, well hopefully my lens can be the next best thing!</description>

Starting off in Brisbane, we stayed on the Sunshine Coast and then spent a night in Bundaberg before settling in Agnes Waters for a couple of days. Now its time for our the longest drive of our campervan holiday around Australia so far- Agnes Waters to Mackay. Close to 600 km's, we are giving ourselves eight hours to do this leg. Any longer and I don't think the kids will take it! So read on for information on travelling up this stretch of the coast, and things to do in the booming regional centre of Mackay.</description>

            <title>Campervan Travel to Tennant Creek</title>

            <description>Hi there, my name is Kim Mckay and myself, my husband and our two kids are on the holiday of our lives- a campervan adventure around Australia! Starting out in Brisbane we headed north and have traversed the whole of the Queensland East coast, going as far as Port Douglas and onto Cape Tribulation. Heading back to Cairns, we then started to head west into the outback, spending some time in Richmond and then in Mt Isa. Its now time to cross the border into the Northern Territory, and our first excursion into that state involves a days drive from Mt Isa to Tennant Creek, where we plan to bunk down for a couple of days and explore the magnificent countryside. From Tennant Creek we will continue on our mission to Darwin, with the next stopover being in Newcastle Waters. We started off in Brisbane, went up the East Coast to Cape Tribulation and then started working our way west across the country. At present we are in Darwin, and despite the sweltering heat we love the city. We have been here a couple of days and seen the sights, and our next trip is to the famous Kakadu National Park, which we plan to tour around for a couple of days. After that we shall return to Darwin, and then go on another tour around Litchfield National Park, which is often seen as a rival to Kakadu as a tourist attraction! We shall judge for ourselves which one is the better option, so continue reading to find out and to pick up some handy hints on motorhome travel in the region!</description>

If you have been following our progress you will know that we have got as far as Newcastle Waters in the Northern Territory after traversing the whole of the east coast of Queensland and then driving west from Cairns into the outback. Our next leg takes us from Newcastle Waters onto Katherine, where we will spend a couple of days exploring the town and the Katherine Gorge before striking out for Darwin. In Darwin we plan to base ourselves for a few days to explore the nearby National parks of Litchfield and Kakadu.
