There are a lot of big homes with high roof peaks and wasps love to build nests in there. My home in particular seems to be a home for wasps more than any other insect around. We are particularly careful during August when they really seem to be active, and aggressive. This lens was created as a way for my family to figure out some ways to deal with the wasps we live with. We have 4 little children, so it really is a concern for us. If it is really bad this year, we may have to call in some help. We like to grill out on our deck, but sometimes the wasps are so aggressive that we end up having to cook indoors on really hot days. Hopefully, you will find some ways to deal with the wasps in your area - if they are a concern. Living within your means is obvious.  I think most young folks today would appreciate it if the older generations would stop telling them over and over again to live within their means.  Much of the debt of today is not from living beyond one's means.  Instead, it has to do with rising costs of student loans, mortgages, services, gas, electricity, soaring interest rates, food costs, car repair, and medical bills.  The average income is not keeping up with inflation. To make matters worse, when someone files bankruptcy whether they did it to get out from medical bills or credit card debt, they now find out that they can't get a job.  Ever since all companies were allowed to do credit checks on people applying for a job, people are staying in debt long after bankruptcy.  This is a problem that needs addressing. This lens tackles the solutions.  Making more money is the key to getting out of and staying out of debt.  Lowering your expenses is great, but if you're already up to your ears in student loan or medical debt, then it's time to increase your income.  The stress of working 2 or more jobs to make ends meet is nothing new.  There are resources to help you get over this hurdle.  Put them to good use if you must. And just my own personal feeling on this, businesses looking to hire someone should not be allowed to do a credit check on that person.  Period.  A background check - yes.  A credit check - no.  I don't care if they're applying for a job at a credit reporting agency or a retail store.  A credit check is unacceptable and unnecessary.  There I said it.  Same goes for opening a checking or savings account at your local bank.  Unacceptable to deny someone a way to pay bills and save money because their credit score is low. Perhaps taking a chance at putting every cent you make into your own business really is less risky these days then trying to work for someone else and do things the "traditional way" or the way your parents and school taught you (ie. get a job, put your money in the bank and leave it there). I've loved storms since I was a little kid. I also love photographing clouds, especially storm clouds. This site is dedicated to my hobby of storm watching. At the bottom of this page, you will notice that I created a secondary site which is filled with tornado and storm videos. Very cool stuff, however, the damage they cause is quite devestating to say the least. This year 2008 we've had more than double the tornados occur in the heartland of the United States. Wisconsin, where I live, is being hit hard with storms, tornadoes and flooding. Storms are nothing to mess with. Take cover whenever you hear the sirens in your town or if you see warnings for your are on TV. I was in some very strong winds one time. It was unknown if it was actually a tornado or not. But the wind was so strong that it blew all the glass windows out of the porch and there were sticks all over in the front yard that were stuck vertical in the ground. One piece was a branch that was pretty good sized, larger than all the others. It stood up vertical in the ground just like all the smaller ones. What a sight! Before her hair was long enough to braid, I started putting small scrunchies in it to pull it back away from her face. Later, I put two scrunchies in it (as shown) and sometimes I would braid it from there and sometimes not. Now that she is 3, her hair is extremely long and I normally braid it after putting scrunchies in near the scalp. She loves pretty things in her hair. Scrunchies are a life saver. If you've heard about these sites but are nervous to use them because of all the talk about "phishing sites" lately, then here are a few tips to help keep you safe from identity thieves. 1.  Make sure to always "type in" the full address to the site you want to go to in your browser's address bar 2.  Make sure you see a "closed lock icon" somewhere on your browser (usually in the status bar or the address bar of your browser) 3.  Make sure you typed in the address correctly before submitting your information on the form to enter the site.  Address will being with https. 4.  Never click a link in an email to get to a site where you have to "log in" 5.  Never give your social security number unless you've done all of the above and trust the site you are using (check with the BBB.org website if you have doubts) Now, eventhough I said not to click links to get to these highly targeted websites, you may click on the ones in this posting because I am an affiliate of PayDotCom and PayPal.  How can you tell that, you ask?  When you hover your mouse over the link, you can see the actually address of where the link will take you in your browser's status bar.  If you do not know where your browser's status bar is, it's the little line of information just above your start button.  If you still do not see it, then go to Tools in your Internet Explorer browser, click Toolbars, then click Status Bar.  This should enable the information bar at the bottom of your browser so you can see where a link is going to take you.  All browsers have this status bar and you should always have it on if you do a lot of surfing online or if you do business online. This prevents the dog from chewing through the bags and over eating. It also prevents mice and bugs from getting in the food.
