How To Use Facebook - facebook marketing and facebook applications

Marketing on Facebook is very complementary to Squidoo. Squidoo puts the emphasis on sharing information about a topic and supports networking through groups. Facebook exists for social networking and supports information exchange through your profile, posts, Facebook applications and RSS feeds. Facebook marketing is subtle and not as overt as Squidoo marketing. It is however very effective. You can hide yourself on Squidoo but Facebook requires you to show your face. It is a powerful form of permission marketing and the "purple cows" really stand out. Why not join Facebook and add me as a Friend and we can share info: Join Facebook now Note: You can't actually access Facebook until you join and get your login. Trust me it will change your life! There are lots of fun Facebook applications.

This is a Squidoo lens with a difference. Its sole purpose is enable you to see Maryoochdore through the camera lens of Barbara J H, a local photographer. This unique perspective is designed to showcase not only Maroochydore but also Barbara's photography. Barbara J H has the rare skill of being able to capture the essence of what she photographs. I came across her photos on Flickr when I was developing my Squidoo lens on Maroochydore and I wanted to share the beauty of her photography with a wider audience.

With Barbara's agreement, I am building a number of Squidoo lenses to showcase her work. This first lens focuses on her home town of Maroochydore. The lens is presented as a photographic art exhibition - stop and have a closer look at what takes your fancy. Enjoy your journey through this Photographic Art Gallery. All photos are hyper-linked to Barbara's work on Flickr.

He spent Grade 2 in a boarding school, 100 kilometres from home. Ron completed his primary and high school years in Brisbane. He then joined the Carmelite Order and became a contemplative monk for 5 years (back in Melbourne). After leaving the Order, he worked for 20 years in the Commonwealth Public Service in Brisbane rising to Senior Executive Service level. Then on to become a lecturer at Griffith University for 10 years after which he became an organisational consultant in his own business with his wife (who had escaped the public service earlier). In true nomadic style, Ron has a Bachelor degree from Queensland University of Technology, an MBA from the University of Queensland and a Doctorate from Griffith University. Ron has been working from his home office since 1999. He lives and works in a Queenslander home at Bulimba, two blocks from the Brisbane River, surrounded by trees, Rainbow Lorikeets and the occasional Kookaburra and pair of Rosellas. In his spare time, he undertakes freelance academic work for a number of universities. Ron is an accomplished tennis player, a dedicated educator, passionate Squidoo lensmaster and affiliate marketing junkie. He is also the author of the Squidoo Marketing Strategies e-book. Many people have written about the tennis mind game before and after Timothy. In this lens, I share my reflections on the tennis mind game after playing competitive tennis for thirty years You need to develop your own inner game of tennis because it is essentially about who you are and where you are at in your own evolution as a person and a player. This will involve developing your own strategies to improve your tennis mind game I have written a series of articles about my strategies to develop the inner game of tennis and included the links below in Links Plexo. My family and I have visited Stradbroke Island for many years often camping on the beachside camping grounds.

North Stradbroke Island is about 20 minutes by water taxi from Cleveland which is an hour's drive from Brisbane - so it is readily accessible to people who live in Brisbane.

Here are some ideas and resources to help you care for your Golden Retriever puppy. The resources cover care and nutrition and training for your Golden Retriever. We had two golden retrievers both female - Bindy and Cindy - so I have had twenty years experience with Golden Retrievers. There are few breeds of dogs that are as intelligent, companionable and warm as Retrievers. I only wish that the resources that are available today were around when our Golden Retrievers were puppies. Golden Retrievers can be mischevious and downright embarrassing if they are not trained properly. Fortunately, there are many resources available now to help you out. One that stands out becuase of its proven track record is Dean Rankin's Golden Retriever Training Tips. (Photo Credit - Oonagh by Carnival of Light on Flickr)

Poems about trees - meditations and reflections on nature

TREE MEDITATIONS Trees are our natural companions breathing in what we breathe out, breathing out what we breathe in. Trees reflect something of ourselves - a history, an appearance, a position, an ecology. Trees are energy fields with their own resonance and aura. Hug a tree and feel the pull of its energy. Meditate on a tree - listen to its message, feel its energy, share its history, understand the ambiguity and paradox of nature, accept the insight offered. Nature reflects the paradox and ambiguity of our lives and its creative resolution of opposites. Nature portrays the interconnectedness of our lives and the fact that the welfare of the whole depends on the welfare of the individual and vice versa. Trees reflect their ecology just as we do - the nurturance, conflict, competition, interconnection, history, interdependence, shared energy. Trees reflect our lives if we look, listen and learn. Here are some of my own tree meditations expressed as poems. (Photo by Digitonin - Flick photoset)

Platypus are playful and elusive. I have seen Platypus in their natural habitat in a mountain creek at dawn in Northern New South Wales. I had to get up early on a chilly winter's morning to see this shy, elusive, playful mammal. In the wild, Platypus are playful like dolphins, but unlike the extroverted dolphins, platypus behave like introverts. I have also watched Platypus play in Sydney Zoo.

Pandas: The World of Kung Fu Panda is reality for the Giant Pandas in the China earthquake

Pandas are lovable, fluffy and...fat (you would be too if you eat for 12 hours a day!). The 2008 earthquake in China brought into sharp relief the plight of Pandas and their vulnerability. It also highlighted the work that is being done to breed Pandas in captivity and to prevent extinction of the Giant Panda. Kung Fu Panda would be proud - just check out what the Pandas in China have survived.

Pandas Rule...but they need your help to survive. Can you help by getting the word out, adopting a Panda or contributing to the eathquake relief effort?

Here's Wikipedia's take on the subject of e-portfolios - An electronic portfolio, also known as an e-portfolio or digital portfolio, is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web (also called Webfolio). E-portfolios are used extensively in education (schools & higher education) and their use is expanding in professional recruitment & job applications, continuing professional development and therapy groups. Squidoo provides a superb platform for the development of personal or professional e-portfolios.

Bulimba is my home suburb in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I moved here in 1983 and have been in the same 1929 Queenslander home since then. Bulimba is surrounded by water on two sides and is positioned on a right-hand bend of the Brisbane River. Mangroves grow near the Bulimba Yatching Club positioned on the point opposite Breakfast Creek and Hamilton. Bulimba is noted for its theatres, cafes and restaurants, shopping, Memorial Park, sporting facilities, Riverside walk and multimillion dollar waterfront homes. It is located 20 minutes by CityCat ferry from Brisbane City and ten minutes by car (off-peak). Many people walk or bike ride from Bulimba to the City.

This e-book has generated a lot of flack because it challenges prevailing wisdom and firmly-held beliefs. Some network marketers have a vested interest in misleading people. Ann has developed the Renegade System based on more sustainable assumptions that provide real support for network marketers. The principles of the Renegade Network Marketer are consistent with the "permission marketing" approach espoused by Seth Godin.

I live in Brisbane Australia. I think this is a great cause that Dr. Mani has established and I want to support it. I admire what he has achieved and how he gives back to children who are suffering from heart defects - they are deprived of the normal pleasures of life that we associate with childhood. I have been involved in internet marketing for 3 years now and have learnt a lot from Dr. Mani. He is a heart surgeon, accomplished internet marketer and a generous helper to children who are facing the challenge of life-threatening heart birth defects. You too can support this cause by visiting his Congential Heart Disease Information Site at: http://www.CHDinfo.com You could even join in Dr. Mani's Squidoo promotion of the Congential Defects Awareness Day by going to: Squidoo For Congential Heart Defects You can create your own lens there and Dr. Mani's team will even support you in the process if you need help.

Education podcast: how to create educational podcasts for learning and engagement

The Wikipedia article on podcasting and its use in learning highlights the benefits of education podcasts. The key benefit of educational podcasting is that it makes educational material available to people via their own entertainment devices such as iPods and MP3 players as well as via web pages and iTunes. You can listen to a podcast (audio) or view a vodcast (video). Educational podcasts make education mobile and ubiquitous through the use of RSS feeds. Podcasts are used in education as a form of audio blog and their use has expanded rapidly with some universities providing lectures via podcasts on iTunes.

Using mobile learning to engage learners: mobile learning technologies for remote learners

Wikipedia suggests that one definition of mobile learning, or mLearning, is "Learning that happens across locations, or that takes advantage of learning opportunities offered by portable technologies". Mobile learning is often linked to online learning, flexible learning and distance education but emphasizes remote access and the use of mobile devices such as PDAs and iPods. mLearning has enabled developing countries such as Africa to provide state-of-the-art learning to remote communities via mobile learning devices including mobile phones.

Online Assessment - assessing online for schools, universities, workplaces and career advisors

Wikipedia describes e-assessment as a generic term to "describe the use of computers in the assessment process" and hence it covers the use of information technology in any "assessment-related activity". Online assessment is used in schools, universities, workplaces and in recruiting and career counseling. E-assessment reflects a world-wide trend to modernize assessment processes in the wake of online learning applications. Workplace assessment is becoming the new arena for e-assessment innovation.
