I was surprised at the large volume of information. 4.  There are also lots of ebooks on cartooning. 5.  Carry a book and paper with your everywhere and doodle, doodle, doodle.  I sketch on subways, in between classes and while waiting to use a bank machine. 6.  Try marketing your creations or publishing them.  You never know.  7.  Get a small white board or slate of some sort and doodle during TV commercials. To start your Engrish journey, I recommend Engrish.com.  It has loads of Engrish organized into several themes like clothing, snack foot, automobiles and much more.  Of course, you can find links to other sites.  Remember that these sites are really not necessarily intended to poke fun at Engish-language learners but rather to generate laughter and, in many ways, expose difficulties that people have grasping the idiosyncrasies of English-speakers. Whenever I return to Canada, the first place I go to is a five-pin bowling center.  I like five-pin because, unlike an enormous 10-pin ball, I can cup a five-pin ball in my palm.  Since the ball is so light and small, five-pin is a popular sport among people of all ages. Cyril, the tycoon, started as a lumber baron bent on cutting down every tree in the Evergreen Forest.  He is head of Sneer Industires.  Although the company's speciality is not really known, it is clear that Cyril dabbles in the stock market and is always driving to acquire anything even remotely connected to profits.  Once, he built a fake mechanical sea serpent in hopes of attacting tourists to Evergreen Lake.  By creating this legenday monster, Cyril hoped to build a theme park and charge outrageously prices for rides, snacks, souvenirs, parking and accomodations.  To secure his theme park, he bought up all the surrounding land.  In the end, the Raccoons at the Evergreen Standard newspaper, led by Melissa, Bert and Ralph,  exposed Cyril's plot.  As a result, Cyril ended up with loads of useless souvenirs and land that he could not sell. Over the years, he has lost a lot of money due to his impulsive desire to generate quick cash.  One time, for instance, he invested in an elevator shoe factory because he was convinced that every short person in the world would want to look taller.  He ignored the fact that the shoes were extremely heavy and therefore, impractical.  He ended up with a warehouse of unsold shoes and almost lost his mansion in the fallout. If you are interested, why not explore further? education Sat, 24 Nov 2007 23:11:52 -0600 http://www.squidoo.com/reggiemantle Alright, I admit that Reggie Mantle is not the most loveable character in the world or Archie but, you have to admit, that life is never dull when Reggie is near.  Over the years, Reggie has crowned himself with egotistical tags like Mantle the Magnificent, The Great One and God's gift to women.  To a certain degree, his elevated ego is justified.  After all, he excels at high school sports like hockey, American football and basketball.  However, his drive to fame usually overshadows his playing as was the case in a hockey game.  While captain of the team, Reggie deliberately provoked opposing players into fights.  While Reggie spent most of the time in the penalty box, Archie led the team to victory with his hard work and goal scoring.  As a result, Coach Kleats made Archie the new team captain.  Although Reggie protested this decision on the grounds that his brawls made him popular with the fans, Kleats maintained that the Riverdale team needed a hockey player more than it needed a crowd pleaser. Unlike his rival Archie Andrews, Reggie is rarely penniless and has an easier time keeping dates.  Reggie's constant pursuit of Veronica Lodge usually results in battles with Archie Andrews. Unlike his teenage friends, Moose does not excel at school.  In fact, when his teacher, Miss Grundy, asked Mosse to explain why he got all but one answer incorrect on a quiz, Moose's replied by stating that nobody is perfect.   For years, many believed that Moose was just a big dummy.  Moose himself admitted it on many occassions.  After being tested one day, however, it was discovered that Moose suffers from a learning disability known as dyslexia.  Typical characteristicss of dyslexia include problems in processing language and numbers.  For this reason, people with dyslexia often have problems spelling and reading.  As a teacher, I have seen many students, all male, make errors that are typical of dyslexia learners.  A common error, for example, is confusing the words 'saw' and 'was'.
