XSitePro Version 2- How Good is it?
XSitePro
is a unique web design tool designed with Internet Marketers in mind.
Version 2 has just been released. This lens looks at the 2 versions to discover
if it is really worth upgrading to the version 2.
What are the differences between the versions?
Why don't people just use the traditional software like Front Page or
Dreamweaver?
What's New in XSitePro 2?
Is this just another hyped up piece of software?
I bought XSitePro version 1 about a year ago, and didn't use it that much. I was looking for a program to help me with the more complicated aspects of websites such as placing forms that worked on the site and other stuff that I wasn't having much success with in Front Page.
I found it much easier to work with than Front Page, but it didn't really help me much with forms and other Internet marketing 'must haves' that as a relative newbie I struggled with.
I didn't feel too excited therefore when I heard there was to be version 2, but I did went ahead and got the upgrade.
I watched a webinar explaining the features of the version 2, and got more interested. It certainly sounded like a super charged version of the first version, and many more features including a form wizard had been added.
The previous manual I had printed out- it was around 300 pages. Version 2 has 3 manuals with the most detailed tutorial being over one thousand pages. There are over 50 different tools and features added to
XSitePro 2, and I must admit some are quite powerful and show planning for the future of the web. For example there is a mobile web tool that will reformat your site so it is suitable for viewing by accessing it using mobile phones and PDA's
Although XSitePro does many things that can be achieved using Dreamweaver or Front Page you don't need the same skill set, and web sites can be produced much quicker that by traditional design software. There is some learning involved to use XSitePro effectively -however it is possible to create professional looking websites without knowing anything about html codes, tables and frames etc.
One thing that hasn't been added is the ability to import a web page created by another application and then work on it using XSitePro with it retaining it's source look and feel. However you can import html pages, and they fit right into the XSitePro web design. Perhaps this is a minor issue when you compare it with the many other features that make creating web sites as easy as clicking buttons.
Having used this software this week I personally think that this is not a hyped up promotion.
XSitePro can be driven by a novice, but has enough power in the engine to satisfy the experienced and even professional web developer. Version 2 has taken web design and included the power tools normally only found by scripts created by developers, and enable all to be achieved just by clicking some buttons.
Do keep on reading this lens to see exactly what features are included in
XSitePro.
