Yak are the traditional form of livestock found in the country of Tibet.

All About Yaks

Yaks are a long-haired bovine animal which is the main type of livestock found in the Himalayan mountains, Mongolia and Tibet. They tend to look like a bull's head was stuck onto a buffalo.

They are are source of both milk and meat as well as a means of hauling goods and supplies over the mountains. The milk can be used as is, or made into cheeses and butter. Yak hair can be cleaned and spun into fiber, allowing for a sort of woolen cloth to be woven from the fibers.

What does a Yak eat?

Yak graze on grass like cattle, but they only eat about half as much volume per day as regular cows.
