How Yarn Wizardry Was Born
(Visit us online at http://www.YarnWizardry.com)
I love crafts and spend time knitting, crocheting or quilting whenever I can. I learned how to crochet from my mother when I was a young child and I always seem to have a project with me.
My son, who is 16 now, has also enjoyed crafts since he was a "wee little thing". Now he's over 6 feet tall, and a darling boy. He has also caught the crafting bug and never goes anywhere without his current crochet project. He's also recently taken up beading.
My mother, who has knitted since she was 5-years-old, for the war efforts, spends hours every day knitting for and organization called, "Stitches from the Heart". They knit hats, sweaters and blankets for premies in the hospital.

Knitting may be done by hand or by machine. By hand, there are numerous styles and methods. You've gotta love the "portability"!
Crochet () is a process of creating fabric from yarn or thread using a crochet hook. The word is derived from the French word "crochet, meaning hook.'' Crocheting, similar to knitting, consists of pulling loops of yarn through other loops. Crochet differs from knitting in that only one loop is active at one time (the sole exception being Tunisian crochet), and that a crochet hook is used instead of knitting needles.
