The Year Without a Santa Claus

Rankin/Bass does it again with the much adored "The Year Without A Santa Claus". Will Santa really skip Christmas this year?

What? Santa decides that people don't believe anymore and that he needs a vacation. Mrs Claus teams up with Jingle and Jangle Bells (two of Santa's elves) to prove to Santa that people still care. When they reach South Town, USA and find a less than enthusiatic welcome, especially from a small boy named Iggie, they enlist the help of the cantankerous Miser Brothers..who aren't that willing to help out.

The Deal

To help South Town get the Christmas spirit back, Snow Miser is allowed to let it snow one day in South Town. In exchange, his brother, Heat Miser gets to make one nice sunny day (in of all places) the North Pole! After Mrs Claus makes a visit to the duos mom..none other than Mother Nature herself, the boys agree and the deals on.

The Conclusion

Will the Miser Brothers keep their deal? Will the Christmas spirit return to South Town? Does Santa really take a vacation?

Snow Miser Lyrics

I'm Mister White Christmas
I'm Mister Snow
I'm Mister Icicle
I'm Mister Ten Below
Friends call me Snow Miser
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
I'm too much!

[Chorus:]
He's Mister White Christmas
He's Mister Snow

[Snow Miser:]
That's right!

[Chorus:]
He's Mister Icicle
He's Mister Ten Below

[Snow Miser:]
Friends call me Snow Miser,
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch

[Chorus:]
He's too much!

[Snow Miser:]
I never want to see a day
That's over forty degrees
I'd rather have it thirty,
Twenty, ten, five and let it freeeeEEEEEEeeze!

[Chorus:]
He's Mister White Christmas
He's Mister Snow

[Snow Miser:]
That's right!

[Chorus:]
He's Mister Icicle
He's Mister Ten Below

[Snow Miser:]
Friends call me Snow Miser,
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
...too much.

[All:]
Too Much!

Heat Miser Lyrics

[Heat Miser]
I'm Mister Green Christmas
I'm Mister Sun
I'm Mister Heat Blister
I'm Mister Hundred and One
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

[Chorus]
He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun
He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

[Heat Miser]
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch

[Chorus]
He's too much!

[Heat Miser]
Thank you!
I never want to see a day
That's under sixty degrees
I'd rather have it eighty,
Ninety, one hundred degrees!

(spoken):Oh, some like it hot, but I like it really hot! Hee hee!

[Chorus]
He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun

[Heat Miser]
Sing it!

[Chorus]
He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

[Heat Miser]
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

[All]
Too Much!

This is a great cartoon as well. A scene was featured in the movie Batman and Robin with Dr. Freeze sings along to the Snow Miser's pitch. Great lens.
