On upper Thompson road, a new branch of Shami Banana Leaf is open now. A well appointed restaurant serves the famous banana leaf meals, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. If you remember and still visit Kavin Banana Leaf in North Point, I think management is same of both places. One is in food court of the North Point Mall and the other is a nice restaurant with nice ambiance.

The Indian ambiance of the restaurant and the smell of Indian spices makes you fee hungry.

Yesterday me and my family had packed our dinner from Kavin Banana Leaf at North Point Food Court.

It was a great treat for our test buds. Chicken Biryani with its authentic Indian masala is delicious.

We like fish curry with the chicken biryani, if you visit kavin banana leaf test this combination also.

A good news is, boneless chicken is also available now to go well with biryani rice.

Yishun is named after Lim Nee Soon. He was known as "Rubber and Pineapple King" for making his riches from these crops. Many of his plantations were located where Yishun and Sembawang are today. Born in Singapore, Lim Nee Soon was a community leader and philanthropist. He supported the revolutionary cause in China and was a close friend of Sun Yat-Sen. Lim Nee Soon fortune fell during great depression of 1936. He was buried in Nangjin, near Sun Yat-Sen's Mausoleum.

Yishun is the Mandarin pronunciation of Lim Nee Soon's name. Nee Soon is Teochew version. The township was officially named "Yishun" in 1980.

If you are driving along the Yishun Avenue 01 approaching Orchid Country Club. Drivie further down to Yishun Avenue 6 signal. Do not turn to Yishun Avenue 6, but drive straight through wooded boluevard.

When you take a natural turn of the road, you will arrive at a water front. The water front frequented by love birds, married couples to take photographs and families to enjoy water front with children. Families play and eat.

On weekends and evenings enjoy icecreem. The old man with icecreem car drives along the 4 lane road with divider.

The road further leads to the Jalan Kyu AirPort and new industrial development. You will reach TPE if you drive through.
