Who is Yoda

The details of Yoda's early life are both scarce and vague.

He is a male, of an unknown (un-named) species, born in the year 896BBY, on a remote, and also un-named planet.

Standing only 66 cm (~26 inches) tall, it is not even known if he is of average height for his species.

What is known is that early in his life, he left his remote home planet for the core worlds, when his ship was struck by an asteroid and disabled. he barely managed to reach a swampy planet (also un-named). It is here that he encounters the Jedi Master N'Kata Del Gormo, who recognises that Yoda is Force sensitive and trains him. It is here that Yoda becomes a Jedi Master.

Yoda is one of the most Force sensitive and powerful Jedi Masters in galactic history.

Swordmaster - Title given only to those who have mastered all techniques in lightsaber combat. Yoda prefers the Form IV Technique which employs a variety of whirling and acrobatic movements.

The Force - Generally considered to be the Jedi Orders greatest Master of the Force, including his extremely powerful, and precise, telekinetic abilities, including:

Force Push: Ability to throw objects/people away

Force Pull: Ability to pull objects towards himself

Force Whirlwind: Advanced Force Push that lifts, spins and immobilizes opponents

Force Repulse/Force Throw: More powerful Force Push, used to fling objects at high velocity away from the user

Force Wave: Most powerful form of the Force Push, creates a wave of pure Force energy that pushes anything in its path away from the source (Yoda)

Force Valor: Used to focus abilities, increase resolve, and increase ones capacity to move faster and strike harder. used by Yoda to overcome limitations of old age

Force Lightning: Yoda had the ability to deflect and dissipate Force Lightning with his bare hands.

Battle Meditation - Abiilty to simultaneouly lift the spirits of his allies while disheartening the resolve of his opponents. Enhanced by Yoda's reputation as a warrior, he was known to win battles by his presence on the battlefield.

Teacher - At heart, Yoda was a teacher, who as Grand Master, had a hand in training nearly all Jedi. He also teaches young Luke Skywalker, who goes on to found the New Jedi Order.

Yoda becomes one with the Force in the year 4 ABY, at the age of 900 years old.

Yoda had the power to retain his identity after becoming one with the Force. This ability allowed him to appear to Luke Skywalker, and also to watch over Leia and Han Solo's children after they were born.

Being a Jedi for nearly 900 years, and the Grand Master for many centuries, Yoda had become the face of the Jedi.

His hand son desire to train all padawan until they were old enough to have their training completed by individual Jedi Masters, Yoda influenced generations of Jedi with his philosophy and abilities.

Yoda's last padawan is Luke Skywalker. Trained on the swampy planet of Dagobah, much of Luke's training was rushed (due to the threat of the Empire, and Yoda's failing health). Although much of the Jedi teachings were initially lost, they were rediscovered by the New Jedi Order (Luke) in ancient holocrons.

circa 400 BBY - Yoda considered one of the greatest Jedi Masters

circa 200 BBY - Yoda recognises Force is in flux, due to growing powers of the Sith

171 BBY - Yoda saves Ord Cestus. Honored with giant statue

102 BBY Dooku discovered and brought to Jedi for training

33 BBY - Yoda prevents raid on Jedi Temple by Yinchorri

32 BBY - Start of the Invasio of Naboo

32 BBY - Discovery of Anikin Skywalker by Qui-Gon Jinn

19 BBY - Invasion of Kashyyyk, Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) invokes Order 66, meant to exterminate the Jedi. Yoda escapes.

19 BBY - Duel with Darth Sidious in the Senate, Yoda fails to kill Darth Sidious and flees.

19 BBY - Princess Amidala gives birth to twins Luke and Leia. Yoda detects both are strong in the Force, and that they should be hidden from their father, Darth Vader

19 BBY - 4 ABY - Yoda in Exile on Dagobah, learns to retain identity after death from Qui-Gon Jinn
