How Yoga Benefits The Senior Generation

In today's world, Seniors are living healthier, more active, and ultimately more productive lifestyles than they did ten to twenty years ago. As the average lifespan increases, so does the desire to live healthier, remain fit, and remain active. Several years ago, the reality of the senior, not only to themselves, but to society around them, was that they simply retired into their rocking chair, where they remained until the day of their death.

Back then, this was acceptable. This was seen as a great way to spend your retirement. You worked so hard all of your life, why not enjoy the serenity of doing absolutely nothing. However, today's seniors do not see it this way at all. They fight the rocking chair as long as they possibly can. More and more retirees are returning to work after initial retirement. More and more seniors are becoming leaders in their communities, they are living a healthier more active lifestyle than ever before.

Living this type of lifestyle has lead to drastic increases in the average lifespan of the human population. However, the sad truth still exists that no matter how hard we try to fight it, age does take its toll on our bodies.
