Problems With Internet Security Software 

Don't you feel your PC slow down after installing anti virus programs?

I always feel that it is important to protect your PC from virus and Internet threats. I had bought well-known Internet security suites and installed them on my laptop. After the installation, my laptop became sluggish and every software that I used started to crawl. The boot up also slowed down. So, I ended up uninstalling these Internet security software.

I kept on trying new Internet security suites but the problems still remained the same. I tried to resolve the problems with the customer support but most of the times, I couldn't understand what they said because of their strong Indian accent. So, I had to email back and forth many times.

My past experience somehow told me that software-based Internet security relied heavily on the resources of my laptop. Probably these software took too much resources that caused my system to be so slow.

At last, I found something that work! 

Frustation has forced me to look for an alternative.

After much frustration, I started search the forum for solution. I found out that Yoggie Gatekeeper Pico could be what I was looking for. I was skeptical at first because of my of past experiences. However, I couldn't afford to be vulnerable to the virus or hackers at the expense of no protection at all. So, I bought it online.

To my amazement, there was no excessive CPU usage at any time. My laptop booted up faster than usual. It was performing faster than before. I could hardly notice that Gatekeeper Pico was running when I did my work on my laptop. Unlike Internet security software, it used minimal resources. It was easy to install. All I did was plug and play.

The only thing I didn't like was I had to lose one USB port. I had to remove devices to free up the USB ports frequently as I use various USB devices. This should not be a problem if you install a USB hub.
