Where to Stay In and Near Yosemite National Park
Ranked #132 in Travel & Places, #7,638 overall
Hotels, Accomodations and Towns Near Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is one of America's premier National Parks, known for its majestic granite cliffs like Half Dome, the rushing Merced River, and the stunning valley view. Yosemite is relatively far from any major city, the closest being Fresno. San Francisco is 3 hours to the west, and a good place to fly into for your Yosemite vacation.
To make the most of your trip, stay a few days at a hotel close to the park. If you don't mind driving a bit everyday, you can try staying in the Mono Lake area on the east side, or stay at one of the convenient locations to the west of the park that are just miles from the entrance (and close to the valley). Here you can find some of the best places to stay in and around Yosemite National Park.

- I have reservations at the Hotel Charlotte for May and I CAN'T WAIT! I need to be studying Ansel Adams before I go too, make sure I get good shots! Hey, you might want to add a section about the, "firefall," in February. There's no way I'll ever go North when it's that cold, but it's a big deal for a lot of masochistic photographers! As it is, May is going to be as cold as I can take it and I'll be in several layers.

- We visited Yosemite last summer. When we were driving into the park and got our first glimpse of El Capitan and Half-Dome, my wife said "I wonder if this is what heaven looks like". Thanks for posting this. I wish it would have been here when we were planning our trip. We stayed in Groveland at Hotel Charlotte and would recommend that. It's about 30 minutes to the park entrance and about another 30 minutes to the valley from there.
