Your High Blood Pressure Remedies - Easy To Find, Hard To Apply

Ranked #80,489 in Healthy Living, #858,252 overall

New Years Resolutions Come and Go, But When it Comes to Hypertension, You Need to Follow Through

Much has been written on the topic of High Blood Pressure Remedies. A salt free diet, exercise, weight loss, no smoking/drinking, are all common knowledge. But one aspect of this disease which seems to get neglected is the factor of self control. Knowledge in and of itself does us no good if we don't have the motivation or ability to apply it on a daily basis.

People Struggle With Lifestyle Changes

Resolutions Are Short Lived

type=textMost people don't have a problem finding a high blood pressure remedy. Their problem is in applying it. People need help with things like:

So exactly how do you give up on salt when you have seasoned your food with it for 50+ years and you can't stand bland food?

How can you lose weight when you have tried a million diets only to see the scale refuse to cooperate?

How do you quit smoking when you have an addictive personality?

How do you eat the healthy recommended foods when you don't even know how to prepare them in a way that is palatable?

How can you get enough exercise when you are overworked and stretched in 100 different directions?

The Age Old Dilemma

Breaking Bad Habits and Forming Good Habits

type=textI have personally faced all of these types of conundrums and have had my hopes shattered over and over again when I realized that all of the expert advice in the world is worthless without the ability, will power, or courage to face my own demons and just do what needs to be done. There have been times when I found the will power and determination to live a healthy life, and I made a commitment to do so with some success. But a day goes by, and then another, then another, and all of a sudden my mind is no longer focused on my goal and I'm back to my old practices.

So any natural High Blood Pressure Remedy by definition is going to require the extra ingredients of self control and perseverance. This is not good news, because these are problems that have plagued mankind for millenniums. There is a whole chapter in the Bible (Romans 7) that deals with this very issue. It is not something that we can take lightly.

Knowledge Is Power

Don't Paddle Down the River of Denial

type=textSo, to solve a dilemma as old as the human race in a single Squidoo Lens would be quite a feat, but I am not about to lay claim to that ability. However, I will say that knowledge is power, and it leads to desire, and desire leads to action. So, part of the puzzle is not to hide from your particular solution, whether it is giving up eating certain foods, smoking, drinking, or getting exercise. But rather expose yourself to the solution as much as possible even if you feel unable to follow through with it.

Immerse yourself in the details of your solution by reading about it, or learning about it. This will help to keep it at the forefront of your mind even if you do not have the courage or the will power to follow through just yet. Just keep it in front of you like a sticky note on your mirror, and tell yourself that it is true, it is good, and one day you are going to do it. Affirming the notion in your mind on a daily basis will give it power in your mind and eventually, your mind will not allow you to deny it without driving you crazy. This approach is more likely to succeed in the long run rather than gritting your teeth and trying to accomplish it with only one day's supply of will power before your mind is even willing to accept the responsibility of persevering with the effort.
