What do you want to do with your body to get it looking and feeling the way YOU want it?

You may not have thought much about doing something with your body, but let me tell you that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE if you put your mind to it and WANT IT and believe it can be done.

If you feel 'skinny' you can put on muscle (and maybe a bit of fat where appropriate). If you feel 'fat' you can shed those pounds and find your physique or curves again. If you want a 6 pack you can have it by reducing your body fat percentage below 15% (note: abs exercises are secondary).

And If you feel 'too short' you can even add an inch or two to your height. Any inch counts and new successes in show this IS HAPPENING FOR PEOPLE.

if you just want to feel more fit and trim, you can do that too.

Whatever you want to do, It is NOT HARD. It's always the 'little things' that make a system work. We all have fitness goals at one time or another and we have our personal reasons for it.

Who does not want a more fit, slim, toned and sexy body?

Attracting a desireable mate often comes down to at least some degree of physical attraction. That is no mystery, and although it's overrated in the news and media, it will always be a valid point to a degree.

Even if you have been married for some time, you know what it feels like when you are at that intimate moment. You know how you feel about your body and how you would like it to be.

We tend to be uncomfortable when their bodies do not live up to the image we have of the way we would like to be.

But today's society is crazy on the subject of food, drink and 'convenience'. It is just too easy to stuff ourselves with food until we are ready to explode, have extra snacks at every turn, pop back a few beers or 'rum and cokes' and slack watching
TV.

So we tend to depart from our desired physical image.

We have also been taught to have everything 'automatic' and convenient - from the dishwasher to driving to the store (even if it's only a block) to taking elevators and escalators a floor or two, etc.

Society has gotten LAZY with many small engrained bad habits.

Your habits form all aspects of your life, including your body.

It is no accident that you are 10, 20, 30 or more pounds overweight. Or that you are too skinny or 'under nourished'.

But is also is not totally your fault when you are surrounded at every turn by fast food, this continuing effort to have everything on automatic so you never have to do more than lift a finger.

Not to mention the false social paradigm that everything in life should be 'easy'. 'Exercise at the gym' has come to be something that takes SO much effort that it turns you off.

Well there are other ways to do it. And sometimes you need to do a little extra work to get what you want. But meeting your fitness and physical goals can be fun, even if a little challenging at times.

We all have goals and dreams. We have all made (and usually broken) New Year's resolutions.

Sometimes we can experience doubt as to whether we can really achieve life success and become our own personal success story.

Sometimes we are not sure if something will really work for us even if we try hard.

Will body building really work for me? Can I get the muscle gain or the weight gain I am looking for?

Can I accomplish the weight loss I am looking for and get fit? Can I be sexy again?
Many people have these doubts. It is normal.

It has been found that people do not progress in their goals outside of their 'comfort zone' or existing paradigm (their existing belief system based on experience).

It has also been found that through self-education, one can achieve personal 'aha' moments and SHIFTS or CHANGES of paradigm or personal reality.

Furthermore it was found that these paradigm shifts are one of the key success factors and that they do in fact PRECEDE success!

In fact, many of the most successful people in history were in fact great 'failures' before that! People are not automatically successes. What you see as a big
success was usually years in the making.

Weight Control 

A Quick Look at the Obvious

I just wanted to put a short note here to summarize something I read today. It is only too obvious.

The question was, how long should an e-book be? (people are writing e-books all the time now).

And the subject of weight loss came up. How about an e-book on losing weight? How long would it be?

The answer, jokingly, 3 pages.

Page 1: Eat a little less if you want to lose weight.

Page 2: Move a little more, some physical activity.

Page 3: Persist on steps one and two until you acheive your weight goal.

If you want to gain weight (muscle), do some resistance training with weights for 45 mins to an hour 3 times a week. Do not overtrain or try to be a pro bodybuilder
as that does not work for the average person.

And change page 1 above to 'eat a little more'.

The 'little more' would be a balance of fat, carbs AND protein. False info in the weight loss field has you cutting out almost all fat or all carbs out of your eating habits.

Nonsense. That will only give you cravings and headaches. Sound familiar? You cannot make a healthy body by starving it with imbalances.

Just eat a normal diet but a little less than usual of everything. And drink more water to help cleanse the system out.

Do not EAT until you are ready to explode. Eat until you are comfortable but not stuffed. The stuffed stage is OVEREATING. Think Thanksgiving. Too much!

You cannot gain or lose weight if you do not change something. You cannot accomplish anything if you do not change your habits at least A LITTLE.

It's the little things that make any program work so don't be too hard on yourself. Do not call yourself 'lazy' or 'unmotivated'. You can do it.

Just make a couple of little changes as above and let life take it's course.

Do not try to starve yourself as that just slows your metabolism (speed of calorie burn) and will sabotage your weight loss (if you are trying to lose).

Do not think of LOSING WEIGHT as such. That is a sucky negative goal.

Go for being as FIT as you can be. Fit people are not fat or obsese, so weight loss comes as a natural BY-PRODUCT of getting fit.

Focusing on the right thing like this will help you.

De-Stressing Weight Loss 

It's Easier Than You Think

I wanted to let you in on a little known secret that will take some stress off your 'diet'.

This is very important for both men and women.

Okay, so here you are gaining muscle and losing fat. You are training and making sacrifices.

But you are out at the mall on the weekend and you see something you want to eat in the food court that looks SO delicious!

It is WAY above what your daily calories call for and you want it now!

Go for it!

Why?

When you are losing weight you will be taking in (optimally) 500-750 calories each day less than what is needed to maintain your body weight.

It takes 3,500 cut calories in a week to lose a pound of fat. 750 x 6 = 4500

4,500 - 3,500 = 1,000 calories to spare.

Go for it.

One day per week you actually SHOULD 'blow out' your diet and eat extra - up to 1,000 calories more than what you need to maintain your body weight.

What?

The technical fact of metabolism is that when you go on a 'crash diet' for example (that is BAD by the way), a bodily survival mechanism kicks in.

If your body sees a tiny amount of calories coming in, it thinks it is starving! So what does it do? It shuts down your metabolic rate!

Okay, so what?

Your metabolic rate is the SPEED of calorie burn!

Your BASIC metabolic rate or RESTING metabolic rate is your speed of calorie burn while you are not even doing anything - resting.

You want this rate to be FAST so you can burn more calories in less time.

Exercise or engage in decent physical activity for only 10-20 minutes and you can speed up this rate for the next 24-48 hours. No kidding.

And yes, sex counts. That's one reason it is good for you! Sex also releases a 'feel good' substance in the body called 'endorphins'. Endorphins also kill pain
by the way and could help to take care of that 'headache'.

Anyways ... this heightened metabolism means you burn more calories even while you are sleeping and during the whole next 24-48 hours!

Note: extra muscle also speeds your metabolism! If you put on 3 more pounds of muscle for example you will speed your metabolism permanently. Why?

Muscle burns calories faster than anything else. The more muscle you have and the less fat, your metabolism goes FASTER.

Crash diets by the way burn fat AND MUSCLE. Bad. Less muscle = slower calorie burn. Starving the body = slower metabolism and slower calorie burn.

Are you seeing the technical problem with crash diets or skipping breakfast?

That is also why 'weight training' is a great idea for men AND women. It adds muscle and that makes you fit and FIRM and it speeds your metabolism which
helps burn off (and keep off) the extra fat.

Women: weight training will not 'bulk you up' unless you do it flat out for years. Your hormonal system is not set up to get huge muscles (but it is set up to make you firm and sexy if you train well).

And Save Your Money While You're At It!

I found an excellent cutting edge 'body shaping' program that I wanted to share with you.

Fitness trainer Vince Delmonte (Vince Delmonte Fitness) has put together an excellent program that packs on muscle and pounds fast while stripping fat.

He has programs for both men and women (60% of his clients are women).

Guys have packed on 10, 20 or more pounds of lean and hard muscle, earning themmore respect and attention.

For the ladies, they have been losing those few extra pounds, replacing them with firm, sexy curves!

Women will not get 'bulky' with his program. To the contrary you will get more firm and sexy!

What I like about Vince is that he dispels the myths and vested interest 'pitches' you will find all over the internet in magazines and from supposed 'experts'.

Fitness magazines are owned and written by nutritional companies that tend to push their products as priority and line their pockets at your expense.

Result? You overspend your budget on faddy 'training supplements' that don't give the promised results.

Read them with a grain of salt.

And I will let you in on another little 'secret' that will really help you.

You know those killer abs like the guy in the little photo just above and to the right? He got those from lots of crunches and ab exercises, right?

Wrong. Or at least partially wrong. If your percentage of body fat is above 20%, you will not see your abs no matter how uincredibly muscular you are!

So what IS the secret to killer abs? Simply that you need an overall fitness program that reduces your OVERALL percentage of body fat to less than 15%.

As you decrease the percentage DOWN beyond that range, YOU WILL HAVE ABS!

You can build that 6 pack further with abs exercises, (do it) but you will NEVER see your abs if your percent body fat is too high.

And all crunching and ab machines that you see being sold on TV will not give you popping abs as much as simply reducing GENERAL body fat (through any good
fitness program) to below about 10% to 15%.

I did it last summer and I could almost not believe it. I slacked off a little since then and put on about 15 pounds (yes, the six pack disappeared!).

But part of that is gone again now that I am 'pumped' about getting back that six pack and I'll have it back in the next few weeks!

Those bodybuilders with the huge arms and chests and super killer abs worked 10 years or more on average to accomplish that. But you can accomplish your own quite satisfactory version of it.

So set your immediate goals realistic and create the best body for YOU that you can within a shorter time frame. Then go for the next higher goal.

Habits form Your Future

You can go about physical improvement in two ways:

1. Short-term fads or temporary diets and routines, or

2. Lifestyle habits that last a lifetime

You likely hate diets, restictions, special foods, having to count calories and all that.

Let me give you the simple truth:

You got the way you are now by HABITS, good or bad.

Your habits form your LIFESTYLE. The way you live day to day and week to week.

Every day, every hour, every week, every month you are either improving your body or destroying it. Your call, your choice, your action.

There are no accidents.

Do you want to be slimmer, more muscular and bigger, firmer or just more fit?

Find a simple physical activity that you love and do it every chance you get.

Whether this is walking, running, exercise bike, real bike, swimming, golfing, martial arts, gardening, raking leaves, shovelling snow, you name it.

Incorporate into your normal lifestyle two things:

1. Activity that will get you closer to your physical goals (burns a few extra calories per day and maybe adds some muscle), and

2. Adjustment of your diet to something better than YOU CAN LIVE WITH. Cut down a little on the foods you KNOW are not good for you and increase a little the foods that you KNOW are good for you.

Sleeping well and exercise also helps release certain hormones that will help you lose weight.

The above is easy to remember and do. And if you do nothing else than the above, your body will come slowly closer to your ideal body.

Set Your Metabolism for the Future!

This guy looks pretty good right? Ryan Reynolds is his name and he's a Hollywood guy.

Well, if you ever want to look like that (and you can), there is a little secret that will help you.

Unless you already know about this, you are likely not to believe it at first. But please read carefully, as this can make a real difference to you and your enthusiasm to create your perfect body.

Especially if you have taken off weight before, only to put it back on. This article will help you understand one of the main reasons why you could not KEEP OFF the weight.

Passive Calorie Burning

Passive calorie burning is fat and calorie burning that is accomplished with no effort.

What I am going to cover here is how you can set up your body so that it will automatically burn more calories per hour - forever.

Fact: muscle burns more fat and calories than anything else in the body. You have muscle, fat, organs, bones, glands, blood vessels, cartilage and maybe more. And these things have a lot happening in them at the cellular level.

But of all these things, pound for pound it is the muscles that do the biggest work and burn the most calories.

It has been found that every pound of muscle you have burns 35 Calories per day, while every pound of fat burns only 2 Calories per day!

That means that every pound of muscle you have is burning 17.5 TIMES more calories for you than every pound of fat!

Okay, so you want to burn off the fat and add to the muscle.

This will make you more healthy, give you less physical problems and pains (ouch my back and legs!) and will make you look more sexy in the mirror and for your partner!

What You Do

You put on more muscle, usually by weight training or resistance exercises of some sort.

This takes a little time of course but even simple exercises such as knee bends and pushups, pullups and lifting anything with a little weight can build muscle. Even lifting your kids a lot can put on muscle, so left them with joy!

The specific exercises will be covered in a separate article.

After you build the muscle, it doesn't take much effort to maintain, and the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate tends to be, because more calories are being burned every hour!

The more muscle you get and the more fat you lose, the more your body becomes a calorie burning machine and the less likely you are to gain unwanted weight in the future.

The Math of It

It takes burning 3,500 extra calories to burn off a pound if fat.

Since each pound of muscle burns 35 calories per day, then 10 extra pounds of muscle would burn an EXTRA 350 calories per day without exercise! Wow.Think about that.

Simple math then tells us that 10 extra pounds of muscle would burn off an extra 350 calories per day, times 10 days = 3,500 calories.

In other words, that extra 10 pounds of muscle will ALONE burn off an extra pound of fat every 10 days without YOU doing an extra single thing!

What This Means to Your Future

It means that once you have worked just ONCE to take off the weight you want to lose and have put on the extra muscle at the same time, you are FAR less likely to ever put those 'fat pounds' on ever again!

Because your body is automatically set up now to burn more calories every day, even if you do not exercise! You have just made your body into a calorie burning machine that will serve you for life!!

Why Crash Diets Do Not Work

This is another reason by the way that crash diets don't work.

They try to strip fat without exercise, without putting on the muscle that will KEEP YOU IN SHAPE FOR LIFE.

But what's worse, crash diets BURN MUSCLE as well as fat, which SLOWS your rate of burning calories, will stall your progress and will have you gaining weight soon again!

Less muscle and less USE of muscle = slower metabolism (calorie burn).

More muscle and more USE of the muscle = faster metabolism!

Women

You do not have to worry about gaining 10 pounds of muscle. Gaining 5 pounds does the same job and it just takes 20 days to burn that extra pound of fat instead of 10 (by doing nothing but your normal routine).

And if you are too slim ('skinny'), an extra 10 pounds of muscle will help to fill out those curves and make you look great!

Don't worry, you will not look like a woman bodybuilder - it takes them years to make their bodies look like that!

And if you are not skinny, five pounds of muscle is nothing and will not bulk you up at all. You will not even see it once the fat comes off. One pound on each leg, one on your butt, one on your torso and a half pound on each arm.

Or you can adjust your focus on whatever body part needs a bit more muscle or size and avoid putting it where you do not want it! You adjust your training routine to put the muscle where you want.

Either way, you will be stronger, tighter and more firm and sexy than ever!

Men

Working out in the gym (weight training) following the advice of an experienced trainer who is familiar with your goals will pack those extra pounds of hard muscle on your shoulders, chest, legs, back and arms to give you a 'bigger' look.

Just slowly continue to increase the amount of weight you are using for each exercise as soon as you can.

And if you hit 'plateaus' where you stop gaining, mix up or change your routine so you are giving your muscles something to do that they are not used to.

The more weight you are handling on each exercise, the bigger and stronger you will get.

And gradually reducing your body fat in addition to an abs routine will make that 6 pack pop out once you drop 'percentage of body fat' to less than 15%.

Be patient, as you are building your perfect body. Once you have it, you have it for life.

More and more evidence of results is suggesting that height is not as fixed as we previously thought and that (within reason) you can add somewhat to your height in a fairly short period of time.

It's a scientific fact that your spine accounts for about 35% of your current height. This means that fixing postural or spinal problems or conditions can result in an actual and permanent increase in your height.

If you interested in knowing how to get taller naturally, it begins with a series of exercises. Following are a couple of examples.

Height increase is possible with stretching exercises, certain nutriton and proper rest.

Three Levels of Development

Level 1: Tonal & Muscular development of the back muscles

Level 2: Spinal decompression & Straightening

Level 3: Progressive spinal disc regeneration & thickening.

Swimming is also said to be one of the most effective things you can do to stretch out your spine.

Since spinal decompression and stretching is responsible for a lot of the benefits of growing in height, there two methods are also good ways to stretch the spine:

1. Hanging by you hands from an overhead bar. This stetches the spine over time and alows it to decompress and lengtnen. It does take some physical strength to do this and may not be appropriate for all people.

2. Inversion therapy boards. These are easily available online for a reasonable price (make sure you get a good quality one as there are many brands).

The board inverts your body safely, stretches your spine and has been reported to effectively reduce and obliterate numerous types of back pain, even year's long chronic back pain, pinched nerves, slipped discs and much more.

A Note on Physical Activity and Exercise
