Adam Lambert: The Best American Idol Contestant Ever

Adam released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, in November 2009, via RCA Records/19 Recordings. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in December 2009, selling 198,000 copies in the United States in the first week. In 2010, Lambert was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Whataya Want from Me". The Times identified Lambert as the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to launch a career on a major label in the United States.

February 27, 2010 Lambert performed his first official solo concert, held at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. He appeared on American Idol as a guest mentor in an episode airing April 13, 2010. Adam Lambert is currently touring throughout the United States this summer with Allison Iraheta and Orianthi. He will be touring until December and he is taking the Glam Nation Tour internationally. Adam will release an acoustic EP, titled "Acoustic Live!", that will be released around Thanksgiving. He also announced that he is already working on his second album and that is expected to release next year.

Remember Michael Johns, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Tamyra Gray? These are contestants from American Idol seasons past that when they were voted out, it caused a big uproar in the competition. In other words, we wanted to stop watching because our favorite got the boot. This year the judges may be able to prevent a big upset like this from happening. The judges will huddle during each results show to discuss whether or not they should "save" the person who was voted out by America that week. They can use this "save" only once during the entire season. If they use the save, no one will go home that week, but two contestants will be sent packing the following week. I like this rule because every year I get so upset because someone I love gets voted out before their time.
