A sweet and hot Cowboy Candy recipe!
There is something about a cowboy, then you add the word candy...giddyup, toss me that rope, and pass me a plate is what I say! With jalapeno's in the recipe you are sure to get some bite, then add a little bit of sugar to the Cowboy Candy, well you down right got the best of two worlds...hot and sweet! Hmm, sounds like a real cowboy I used to know...smiling ear-to-ear!
Well ya just gotta try the recipe and give a holler here if you liked it or didn't, it really is that easy.
GiddyUp and here we go!
THE Recipe For Cowboy Candy
Mouthwatering and truly yummy!

I love finding new recipes and this one caught my attention because of the name and then I saw it had jalapenos...totally roped me in! You will want to eat em' straight out of the jar because the recipe for this Cowboy Candy is that good!
Consider this; a cracker, smear of cream cheese, the cowboy candy on top! Mmm! Mmm!
Here is what you need to do to make these cowboy candy taste treats...
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups sliced fresh jalapenos
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 drop green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
Slice jalapenos, and place in a small sauce pan. Add water and sugar. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Reduce temperature to low, and simmer until the liquid has reduced, and the sugar water has become syrup-like (about 15- 20 minutes depending on temperature of heat source). Let cool and place in clean jelly jar. Store in refrigerator.
Options:
Add smoked salmon or turkey for a 'special' presentation, if you are doing the cracker/ cream cheese idea.
Remove a portion of the seeds from the jalapeno to decrease the overall hotness in the recipe.
Give small jars as gifts or treats to that special someone.
